Breaking down the elite quarterback play in the DMV this week.

2023 6'0 190 QB – [player_tooltip player_id='90649' first='Noah' last='Brannock'] – Calvert Hall

As he accounted for five touchdowns and led his team to a blowout victory, [player_tooltip player_id='90649' first='Noah' last='Brannock'] was absolutely one of the players of the week this week. Calvert Hall dismantled St. Michael the Archangel 41-6, and the Cardinals were dominant on both sides of the ball from start to finish. Brannock demonstrated unbelievable poise and confidence in the pocket, stepping up when he needed to and even scrambling for first downs. He is also a very good passer on the run which helps particularly during scramble situations. Brannock is the #1 ranked QB in the 2023 class according to Prep Redzone, and, if he keeps playing at this level, that won't change anytime soon. Calvert Hall takes on Life Christian Academy this Friday @7PM Eastern.

2023 6'3 200 QB – Myles Slade – St. John's

Myles Slade started his first ever season opening high school game, and he did so in enemy territory at St. Thomas Aquinas high school during national showcase weekend. St. John's narrowly fell to Florida powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna, but the Cadets showed flashes of greatness in this contest. Slade showcased his elite mobility, and he even lined up out-wide as a receiver at one point. Myles Slade is as dynamic of a quarterback as any in the nation, and once he has full command of this offense it's going to be fireworks for St. John's. Slade's elusiveness and athleticism combined with this high powered Cadet offense clearly has a lot of potential, and they'll look to earn their first win of the season this Saturday against Middletown.

2024 6'5 175 QB – [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] – Good Counsel

Few quarterbacks performed as efficiently and as confidently as [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] did this weekend, as Good Counsel defeated St. Joe's 42-21. Weaver threw multiple touchdown passes of at least 50 yards to different receivers, and he took great care of the football for four quarters. There's no substitute for involving running backs in the passing game, and this is something that [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] did very well in this game. If Weaver continues this high level of play then there's no reason at all why Good Counsel won't be playing for the WCAC championship again this Fall. The Falcons square-off against Baton Rouge Catholic under the Friday night lights this weekend.

2025 6'0 175 QB – [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] – DeMatha

[player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] and DeMatha faced a tough test against a battle ready Cardinal Gibbons team over the weekend. Gibbons imposed relentless pressure on the Stags' QB, making it difficult to get an early flow going on offense. Gardner's mobility was clearly elite, however, Gibbons' tacklers were well prepared and they met the challenge head on all game. Even so, down 5-0 in the 4th quarter, Gardner made an incredible touchdown run to put DeMatha in the lead 6-5. In the end, the Stags fell short 6-11 to Gibbons, but the game highlighted a lot of positive attributes about this DeMatha team. [player_tooltip player_id='250315' first='Denzel' last='Gardner'] and the Stags will look to bounce back in the win column in a big way next week against Rock Creek Christian Academy.

2024 6'1 200 QB – [player_tooltip player_id='264054' first='Aidan' last='Conrath'] – Gonzaga

[player_tooltip player_id='264054' first='Aidan' last='Conrath'] absolutely balled out against Archbishop Carroll, and his performance this weekend was arguably better than any other quarterback's that's listed. He threw three touchdown passes, and also ran one in, accounting for four total in the contest. His QBR was 161.7, and he was 22/26 on pass completions. Conrath's performance was so eye opening that The Washington Post named him Player of the Week this week. The chemistry between Conrath and his receiving core was so elite that this early success must be the product of hard work during the offseason. It's safe to say that the Purple Eagles have found their QB1 and that they're back on the hunt for a WCAC title. Conrath and Gonzaga face McDonogh this Friday @7PM Eastern in D.C.
