North Little Rock High Scrimmage

<p>North Little Rock is looking very good this year. They are very balanced and have some leadership. They are returning some starters and have some young guys who are stepping up to the table this season. I was very pleased at what I saw during their scrimmage.</p>   <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='277344' first='Malachi' last='Gober'], 5-10 170, QB, 2023</strong></h2>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/08/20220812_104322-scaled-crop-2560x1681-1660488754.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-414417"/></figure>   <p>Malachi is a very solid leader who runs the offense like a general. He guides his team very well and truly helps the coaches with his poise. Malachi is a guy that knows how to keep his receivers running. He knows how to put the ball in a great place allowing YAC from his ball catchers. He can have the nice touch on the deep pass or drill it in a hole between two defenders on a zone defense. He is also an engineer when running the read option. His presence on their offense is going to really be a plus for them this year. </p>   <h2><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='142938' first='Torrance' last='Moore'], 5-11 180, RB, 2023</strong></h2>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/08/20220812_092307-scaled-crop-2560x1681-1660488818.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-414419"/></figure>   <p>Torrance is a very smooth runner that has a smooth glide like Eric Dickerson. This young man runs a 4.49. He says he slips when he ran that. His coaches and players often say he coasts when he runs then explodes when he needs to. I saw that yesterday when he scored on a long passing play out of the back field. When he sees open space his acceleration is so quick it looks like he is in slow motion while everyone else is full speed. He is going to be very explosive on their offense this fall. He also can run very nice routes. He is a very well known receiver in Arkansas. This season he has a chance to spread his name to other regions. Jaden is a great possession receiver who can keep the chains moving. He doesn't mind being a big body in the middle. He impressed me a lot yesterday. This young man is polished and moves like an upperclassmen. He can run good routes and gets good separation. He also has good speed and can make you miss when he catches the ball. He will be a help to their senior QB. He is going to be a big time name coming from their program. He is a big guy that is also quick. Yesterday he was getting to the backfield, making tackles on the line and helping his LBs in the run game. Quincy is going to be a major force on this Charging Wildcat defense. He is trouble for offensive linemen. He knows how to use his big hands and long arms to keep blockers off him. When he comes off he has a very quick release. Quincy also knows how to slip between double team blocks. He is a guy that brings a big load around the trenches. He knows how to use those big hands. He is quick and can shed blocks. He isn't lazy when the ball is going away. This big fellow even makes open field tackles. [player_tooltip player_id='91977' first='Deontae' last='Young'] is flying under the radar. He moves around like a wild man with grace in their secondary. He breaks up passes with ease. He can line up and cover man to man. Keytrone also does not mind coming up making big hits. He knows how to break on the ball. He isn't stiff when he is back pedaling. Keytrone has been making a big name for himself this off-season. He is going to be a power 5 player. Keytrone has a lot of talent. This is going to be his season to shine and show the state who he is.</p>
