It is their time to show off the skills they have. Here are some guys that have been impressive this summer. I expect them to have a big year.
Caleb ‘The Jet’ Smith, ATH, 5-11 160, Allen (TX)
You don’t get the nickname Jet unless you are blazing quick. Jet can pick them up and put them down. This kid is every bit of the word fast. He is not just fast. Jet is a guy who knows how to see lanes and hit them like a sonic hedgehog running loose in the wild. He runs a 10.57
Jet is going to play offense, defense and be a return specialist. His return game is nasty. This kid will set up a nice return and be gone before you can even blink. He has some nice hands and can grab the ball out of the sky like a magnet. The ball just sticks to his hands. When he plays RB he knows how to let those blocks get set up. He attacks the hole with a lot of speed. Jet is going to be amazing this year. He already has three D1 offers. Look for a lot more to come his way
Brayden Robinson Brayden Robinson 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Red Oak | 2026 State TX , 5-10 150, ATH, Red Oak (TX)
Brayden is another guy who is a track star. He runs a 10.67 in the 100m dash. He is going to be shining a lot with his speed this year. He can make some cuts that has his defenders looking like they are in slow motion.
Brayden can line up in the slot and be crafty with his routes. He has good hands and knows how to attack the ball at its highest point. He plays the game like he is 6-4. He is a very tough coachable kid that loves to learn. He knows how to tote the rock out of the backfield. Sometimes his movements make him look like he is gliding by. Brayden is going to continue to grow in all aspects of his game. He is nowhere near reaching his ceiling. I am excited to see what he does over the next four seasons.
Wes Wiggins Wes Wiggins 6'3" | 280 lbs | OL Smithville | 2026 State MS , 6-3 240, OL, Smithville (MS)
I love the way Wes gets after it. He is a guy that loves to work and get better. Wes is very determined to get his name out there. He was all over the camp circuit this summer. It seems like every event I covered he was there.
Wes has not just been showing up to be there. He has improved his skills a lot. I didn’t see Wes lose many battles. He was very dominant all summer. He knows how to punch his hands where they need to go. He does not give up his arms too early allowing them to be easily chopped. He has good footwork and does good in drills. Wes is very strong and will get bigger. He has a high ceiling. He is going to make a lot of noise throughout his varsity career. He will be starting this year as a freshman.
Omari Johnson, 6-1 170, WR/DB, Wesson
Omari popped on the scene at the Southern Elite Combine. Everybody was very impressed with his speed. He ran a 4.46 and had the second best time at the whole camp. Last year as an 8th grader he had 8TDs in varsity. Omari is going to be a big name to keep up with.
Omari still has a lot of work to do, but his raw ability is amazing. Omari has great hands and he knows how to go after the football. His speed allows him to make big plays on screens and trick plays. He thrives on the fade route, and flies right by his defenders. He has been working hard on becoming a better route runner. On defense he knows how to come up and make good attacks on the football. He could use some training on understanding his assignment in zone defenses, but let’s not forget he is only a 9th grader. The more times he sees on the field the better he will get. At this point it is hard to tell what position he will play on the next level. He is definitely a guy who is going to be on everybody’s radar after this season.
