Game Preview Gautier Vs Provine

Provine is sure to have some fight in them, but for this contest to be close, Provine's coaches and athletes will need to be on the top of their game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Gautier Gators</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last year the Gators went 7-4 and faced some pretty stark opponents. The score of this game last season suggests that Gautier intends on being dominant the entire contest. The athletes and coaches need to take heed not to become overconfident, however.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='108931' first='Kaden' last='Irving'],</strong> 6-2 215 QB Class of 2023<br>[player_tooltip player_id='108931' first='Kaden' last='Irving'] had a tremendous season last year and will be looking forward to starting the year off with a W. Irving has been a phenom at QB for the Gators over the last four seasons and is looking to end his high school career with an exclamation mark. With each season he has gotten exponentially better, stronger, and faster. Kaden will surely be a difference maker that Provine will need to account for if they want to make this a contested match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Marcus Cunningham, </strong>5-6 160 RB Class of 2023<br>Although the Gators do not run the ball often it is still important to have the threat of a running game. Marcus has been a very serviceable running back for Gautier last year averaging over 4.9 yards per carry as well as posing as a passing threat out of the backfield. It will be great to see how Marcus affects the outcome of the game tonight and what his impact will be.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>AJ Phillips,</strong>6-0 180 WR Class of 2023<br>AJ will certainly be a force to be reckoned with as he is one of Irving's favorite targets. In the 2021 Season, AJ was able to get open for over 1,200 yards and 12 Touchdowns which put him within the 50 Receivers in the State. His stem game and stick moves are solid, which paired with his speed and ability to get open poses problems for defenses. One can expect AJ to eclipse 100 yards receiving this game on in their attempt to start the season with a W.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Provine Rams</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Provine Rams had a difficult season in 2021 however they were able to win nearly half of their contests. The Rams will need to be operating at a high level in order to keep this a close contest and start the season off with a W.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='344088' first='John' last='White'], </strong>6-0 180 QB Class of 2024<br>[player_tooltip player_id='344088' first='John' last='White'] was one of the main playmakers for this Ram's young team. Although his age was evident last season, it is safe to say that John is set for a better season this year. His ability and work ethic along with the improvement of his supporting cast will help him perform substantially better, however, for this contest to be close he will need to be at the top of his game. John has displayed excellent potential but it will be a sure test of his composure.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jontavous Shoemaker, </strong>5-8 167 RB Class of 2024<br>Jontavous is another young playmaker for the Provine Rams. The opportunities he has received are certainly limited but nevertheless he was able to come away with a 4.1 Yards Per Carry Average. Shoemakers' efforts as a sophomore are a testament of his potential and ability as an upperclassmen. Jontavous will need to be certain to read his blocks and make the correct cuts in order to keep this game a competitive outing. It will be great to see how the team surrounds him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
