Josh Spears, WR- West Florida High c/o 25
6’3 180lbs
Spears is a player with big potential and someone that I think is going to have a big season for West Florida in 2022. He had a strong spring camp and spring game. He’s a big receiver that shows good quickness off the line, has a big catch radius, shows physicality and willingness as a blocker. He’s got a bright future! He’s also an outstanding student with a 3.6 GPA.
Julio Valcarcel, DB- Englewood High c/o 23
5’11 185lbs
Valcarcel is a player out of Englewood High in Jacksonville that opposing coaches will need to keep an eye on this season. He finished second on the team last season from a safety position registering 83 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, and 2 ints. Versatile player that can play run or pass, shows good short area quickness and takes good angles to the ball, and is a very good blitzer off the edge. Smart defender with a 3.3 GPA. He was an All-Conference player last season and is someone that I think is really going to excel in 2022.
Kyle Dorsey, LB/ATH- Legacy Charter High c/o 23
6’0 175lbs
Dorsey was part of a stout defense that helped Legacy Charter to a 7-2 record in a state playoff spot last season. I expect him to have an even bigger impact in 2022. Last year he was an All-Conference selection and led the team with 83 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and one int. Dorsey shows good instincts and does a good job tracking the ball through traffic, flashes the ability to use his hands to fight off blocks and get to the ball, does a good job timing blitzes. Another smart athlete with a 3.5 GPA.
Nasin Wright, OL/DL- Tocoi Creek High c/o 23
6’1 320lbs
Wright is an under the radar player out of Tocoi Creek and is someone that I’m excited to watch this season. He’s a player the Toros are going to rely on heavily in 2022. Wright mauls people in the trenches and finishes off defenders with nastiness and physicality, comes out of his stance low and generates a lot of movement (520lb squat), shows good feet for a player his size and can pull and kick out. His film is really impressive and is a player coaches need to check out ASAP.
