A dynamic dual-threat quarterback and one of the top overall athletes across Georgia in the 2024 class, Clavon started his Kell career off with a bang, leading a high-scoring Longhorn offense to an impressive 38-23 win over Cherokee Bluff. He may not be the biggest quarterback, but he’s extremely athletic and showed off his big arm all night long. A superstar baseball player, it was easy to watch Clavon make plays with his feet as he took off for multiple big runs during the win. He showed good mobility in the pocket and completed some giant deep balls down the field. He was efficient, mobile, and lit up the stat sheet, passing for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns while rushing for 47 yards and one more touchdown. Look for him to have a gigantic season this fall as a junior, hoping to lead the Longhorns deep into the 5A playoffs.
Peyton Zachary Peyton Zachary 5'8" | 160 lbs | WR Kell | 2026 State GA – QB – Kell
With the help of QB Bryce Clavon Bryce Clavon 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Kell | 2024 State GA , the freshman wideout made play after play throughout Kell’s big ? victory over Cherokee Bluff in their season opener. A shorter, explosive receiver, Zachary was a go-to weapon all game and got the ball in his hands in multiple ways. He was a deep threat for the offense, but he was also a safe option in the short-passing game, using Zachary’s quickness and speed to made plays against a winded Cherokee Bluff defense. He showed tremendous ball skills, especially on his big 26-yard touchdown reception where he pulled down a tough ball in coverage. He was excellent in his first varsity game and has a very successful high school career ahead of him. After showing off in the season opener and catching 7 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, expect Zachary to have a giant freshman season this year.
Mike Matthews Mike Matthews 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Parkview | 2024 State GA – ATH – Parkview
The top-ranked prospect during day one of the Corky Kell Classic, the 5-star junior made plays on both sides of the ball during Parkview’s big 52-7 win, letting everyone know he was the best player on the field at all times. A long, lean athlete with tremendous ball skills, Matthews found the endzone twice on offense and ended the game with six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He got open consistently and the inside slant was too much to handle for the Johns Creek defense. He catches the ball with ease and always looking to score with the ball in his hands. Defensively, Matthews made one INT at safety, plucking the ball out of the air and returning it for big yards. There isn’t much he can’t do on the field, and he proved why he’s a 5-star talent on Wednesday night.
Khyair Spain Khyair Spain 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Parkview | 2024 State GA – RB – Parkview
The Parkview offense was very impressive on Wednesday night, scoring 52 total points against Johns Creek, and junior running back, Khyair Spain Khyair Spain 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Parkview | 2024 State GA was a big reason why. A tough, physical back who can break tackles, Spain showed good burst up the middle and appeard to be faster than many realize. He’s an excellent runner who runs behind his pads, and when he gets rumbling, he’s tough to bring down by just one defender. He ran hard all night long, rushing 13 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the first game of the season. He has a strong sophomore season last fall, and he got his junior year off to a big start. Look for him to continue running through defenses all season long.
