QB [player_tooltip player_id='144704' first='Sean' last='Boyle'] - Charlotte Catholic - Boyle, a University of Charlotte commit, threw 2 touchdown passes and had a TD run in Catholic's 35-34 OT victory over Hickory Ridge. He showed some ability to escape and run out of the pocket for first downs as well as throw on the run accurately which were two things he has clearly shown marked improvement in.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='44969' first='Christian' last='Hamilton'] - Hickory Ridge - The UNC commit did not disappoint and put on a show with a game-tying TD and another TD to tie the game in the first half. Christian has incredible explosion and run after the catch ability, as well as excellent straight line speed which gets him behind defensive backs with ease.

TE [player_tooltip player_id='115725' first='Jack' last='Larsen'] - Charlotte Catholic - The North Dame commit looked like a mini-version of George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers all night long. He showed great blocking ability on the line of scrimmage, but his receiving prowess was big in picking up first downs and keeping the chains moving for much of the game. He ended up getting the game winning touchdown in overtime for his team to move to 2-0 on the season. I did an interview after the game with Jack, right here.

WR Jalen Harris - Hickory Ridge - Harris really broke out big-time in this game. University of Charlotte smartly offered him at their camp over the summer, and tonight he showed why with 6 catches for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is a 6'3 kid that is showing more explosiveness now than he did over the summer. He was hurt last season, but he is 100 percent now and I expect some college recruiters eyes to be wide open for him now - it's pretty hard to outshine [player_tooltip player_id='44969' first='Christian' last='Hamilton'] but Harris did a great job in trying to do so in this game.

QB Caden Haywood - Hickory Ridge - Haywood is in his first year as the Varsity QB but in a showcase game atmosphere he really made some big throws and led his team on a 4th quarter comeback to force overtime. I like how he bounced back from an interception on the first drive of the game and didn't let that phase him one bit. He has some excellent size and a very strong arm he put on display a couple of times for TD passes. He will be one to watch for sure moving forward - he is listed as 6'5 and 220 pounds and a junior in the 2024 class.
