Week 1 started out very fun. Here are some of the top performances from last week. Every week we will check out the stats and see who balled out. Be sure to keep us informed and knowledgeable on who had incredible performances.

KaMario Taylor, QB, Noxubee County

Went 8-for-13 passing with 253 yards and 5 passing TDs. He also rushed for a TD. I was told that KaMario was pulled at half-time. This kid is well mannered and very humble. He is also very calm in the pocket. He is going to be putting up major numbers this season.

Omari Johnson, WR, Wesson

Had 4 catches for 112 yards and a receiving touchdown. He is only a freshman. He also took a kick return back for a touchdown and almost did it again. He scored the two point conversion to help his team to a 49-48 victory over Tylertown. This guy is going to be a big time.

[player_tooltip player_id='257395' first='Hunter' last='Hester'], WR, Mantachie

Had 211 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns in the Mustangs 42-16 win over Tishomingo County. All that speed he has helps him be very explosive when he is at receiver. He always chooses the right lane when he is returning kicks. A 4.4 guy that is very dangerous. This won't be last mentioned amongst the top performers.

[player_tooltip player_id='108932' first='Will' last='Loy'], QB, Wesson

Went 13-of-30 passing for 286 yards with three touchdowns and also had two rushing touchdowns in the Cobras 49-48 win over Tylertown. This guy will put up a lot of stats again this year. That's what he does. He has over 7000 total yards in his high school career. He will go down as a legend in South, MS.

[player_tooltip player_id='106167' first='Suntarine' last='Perkins'], ATH, Raleigh

Had 8 rushes for 157 yards with two touchdowns and had a receiving touchdown in the Lions 21-6 win over Bay Springs. This guy is nothing less than explosive. Raleigh knows how to make sure he gets going early. He averaged over 10 yards a carry Friday night. This Ole Miss commit will definitely be on this list again.

Cody Simpson, WR/DB, North Panola

Had a receiving touchdown and a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Cougars 46-0 win over Marks Palmer. He is a defensive guy that sees some offense too. I'm warning QBs that he has the ability to take an interception back every time he catches one. Be easy when you are throwing the football to his side.

DeShaun Smith, WR/DB, Wesson

Had a receiving touchdown and two interceptions on defense in the Cobras 49-48 win over Tylertown. It was a hard fought rivalry game. Wesson needed a lot of their players to step up and make this win happen. They definitely got the job done. DeShaun is going to have a big year. They will need him to step up every game in order to go deep in the playoffs.
