<p>The staff just completed an update of player rankings. There are 76 players listed in the updated rankings. The Class of 2025 will continue to grow as the high school season starts this week. Young players are moving up to the Varsity and many will play a significant amount of time throughout the season. The five players listed in this preview played a lot as freshmen, are moving up to varsity, or started as freshmen on their varsity team. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='355088' first='Joey' last='Jonske'], 5'9" 165 (No. 9 ATH, No. 39 Overall), Cardinal Gibbons HS</strong>. Joey saw limited action as a running back and wide receiver on a high-scoring offensive unit last season. He is a talented young player who plays multiple positions. Joey is expected to step up his performance on the field with increased playing time throughout the season.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='342979' first='Jamar' last='Gillard'], 5'8'' 145 (No. 2 DB, No. 33 Overall), South View HS</strong>. Jamar is stepping up to varsity level of competition and is expected to play in the defensive secondary. He is talented young player who is improving his skillset along with his speed to make an impact as a defensive back.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='414021' first='Taeshawn' last='Alston'], 6'4" 205 (No. 1 DL, No. 21 Overall), Vance County HS</strong>. Taeshawn is quick out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them to make stops. He displayed good technique and good use of hands to knock down pass attempts. His quickness makes it difficult to block him, often unblocked on stops in the backfield. He finished last season with 54 total tackles, 9 of the tackles were for losses. Taeshawn received his first D-1 offer after his performance at the NC Central University Prospect Camp. The athletic defensive end has a high upside and will receive several Power5 offers over the course of his high school career.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='326137' first='Parker' last='Laughlin'], 6'0" 165 (No. 3 LB, No. 3 Overall), A.L. Brown HS</strong>. Parker is stepping up to varsity level of competition and is expected to play on the defensive unit. He is a talented young player who is improving his skillset and gaining size to make an impact as a linebacker.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='371711' first='Trey' last='Blue'], 6'4" 300 (No. 11 OL, Watchlist), Cary HS</strong>. Trey displayed good technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He is expected to step up his performance on the field to make an impact on the offensive line. Trey's performance on the field will generate recruiting interest for him. </p>
