From the upcoming 2023 seniors to the rising 2026 freshmen, there are a handful of prospects that have seen their stock rise exponentially in recent weeks.
Here, we take a look at one prospect from each class that is hot on the recruiting trail.
2023
Colton Hood Colton Hood 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Eagles Landing | 2023 State GA – DB – ELCA
Talented two-sport athlete that is coming off a huge junior season on the gridiron in which he finished with 12 total TDs on offense and 8 INTs as a defensive back. At the college level, his skillset should translate to defensive back, but he is talented to play on both sides of the ball. At 6’1, he has great length and he also has great speed and ball skills. He does an outstanding job of jumping routes as well. After a spring where he saw his recruitment pick up with offers rolling in from schools like Michigan State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, and others, Hood is continuing to rise on the trail. He picked up an offer from Auburn a few days ago, where his father and uncle played. Auburn is a team to watch, but there are plenty of schools after Hood and his recruitment still has a ways to go.
2024
Wendell Gregory Wendell Gregory 6'4" | 215 lbs | DB Walton | 2024 State GA – ATH – Walton
Gregory is a versatile athlete that has become a household name on the recruiting scene following a huge spring and summer. This offseason alone, Gregory has picked up offers from schools like Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, and multiple more P5 schools. Last season, Gregory lined up everywhere and dominated his completion. He has elite-level speed and flies to the ball. On top of that, he is even bigger than he was last season as he sits around 6’4 225. Gregory is a guy that can play multiple positions at the next level, and do it at a high level. I expect a huge junior season which should give way to even more offers on the recruiting trail.
2025
Tanner Savasir Tanner Savasir 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cherokee | 2025 GA – QB – Cherokee
One guy that is quietly starting to make a name for himself is Tanner Savasir Tanner Savasir 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cherokee | 2025 GA , QB from Cherokee. Last season, he played backup to Vanderbilt QB signee AJ Swann, but Savasir was still impressive as he lead the freshman team to a very successful season, and he looks even better this time around. I was able to get eyes on him this summer, and I was impressed with his ability to read the field and make tightly contested throws. He looks bigger than he did last year, and he has time to continue to grow. Savasir doesn’t hold any offers right now, but he is a guy that has the tools to really break onto the scene as a sophomore.
2026
Mason Townsend Mason Townsend 6'3" | 270 lbs | OL Prince Avenue Christian | 2026 State GA – OL – Prince Avenue
Townsend is a younger guy that doesn’t have any offers at the moment, but they’re coming. Townsend has made raves on the showcase scene for well over a year now. Why? Because he usually dominates. I saw him this spring dominate older defensive linemen, and from everything I have heard, he continues to do so. Townsend is still growing into his frame, but once he does, I could see a load of offers come his way. He has the technique and fundamentals down, now it’s about gaining experience and adding some weight. Once he does those things, watch out.
