Santa Margarita athlete [player_tooltip player_id="383955" first="Collins" last="Acheampong"] announced his commitment to Michigan recently.
He is a defensive end and tight end who is 6-foot-7 and around 250 pounds. He has not played football since his freshman year and transferred to Santa Margarita from Fairmont Prep (Anaheim) who did not have a football team.
Acheampong had an impressive showing at the Under Armour Next All-American camp in March and drew a lot of attention from the media at the event. His work ethic is impressive. He did not have a ride to and from the event, so he waited for the entire camp for one of the skill players to drive him home.
He had a final four of Michigan, Miami, LSU and UCLA. He is the first player from California in Michigan’s 2023 recruiting class.

Bishop Amat (La Puente) defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="190272" first="Tiumalu" last="Afalava"] announced his commitment to Cal on Wednesday.
Afalava is 6-foot-5 and very quick for his size. He was great during the agility drills at the Under Armour Next All-American camp in March. He is explosive out of his stance and could be a defensive end or a three-technique at the next level.
He also had offers from Arizona State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Ole Miss among others. He is the fifth player from California in Cal’s 2023 recruiting class and the second defensive lineman joining [player_tooltip player_id="145211" first="Ashton" last="Sanders"] of Cathedral.

Folsom receiver [player_tooltip player_id="25378" first="Rico" last="Flores"] announced his commitment to Notre Dame on July 3.
Flores is an explosive athlete with great body control. He can beat guys in man coverage with his first step and is aggressive when going for 50/50 balls.
He had 30 offers and chose Notre Dame over USC, Georgia and Ohio State among others. He is the second player from California in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class joining [player_tooltip player_id="144959" first="Cooper" last="Flanagan"] of De La Salle.

Pacifica (Oxnard) defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="145120" first="Maliki" last="Crawford"] announced his final three schools are Cal, UCLA and USC.
He is lengthy at 6-foot-3 and could be a corner or a safety and pack on a little muscle. I like him better as a safety in zone coverage and liked him during the individual drills at the Under Armour Next All American Camp.
Crawford has 18 offers and multiple recruiting experts expect him to go to Cal.
