With the start of the season quickly approaching, hope springs eternal. The same can be said looking at some of the younger players. Today, we will do just that. Here is a look at some of the most promising underclassmen on the offensive side of the ball in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id=’320278’ first=’Avery’ last=’Mitchell’], 5’5, 130 pounds, Wide Receiver, 2026, Speedway

[player_tooltip player_id=’320278’ first=’Avery’ last=’Mitchell’] has the potential to be a consistent playmaker all over the field for Speedway. Offensively, Mitchell can play both wide receiver and quarterback. He has natural playmaking ability. Mitchell has terrific speed allowing him to run right past defenders. Mitchell has the silky-smooth skills that make it possible to evade defenders left, right and center. He can make an impact on special teams by covering kickoffs. That same elusiveness helps him tremendously when he is returning kickoffs. Defensively, Mitchell serves as a cornerback.

[player_tooltip player_id=’380886’ first=’Jayden’ last=’Pollom’], Wide Receiver, 2026, Fishers

[player_tooltip player_id=’380886’ first=’Jayden’ last=’Pollom’] is getting set to begin his career at Fishers. As he does so, he has the potential to help the offense considerably in the seasons ahead. Pollom has good route-running skills. He comes out of the break strong and gets himself into good positions to make the catch. Pollom does a tremendous job of adjusting to make the catch. He can come back to the ball to help the quarterback when the pass is underthrown. Those attributes, as well as his reliable hands, give Pollom the potential to be a go-to target at Fishers in the coming seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id=’196638’ first=’Nevan’ last=’Tutterow’], Quarterback, 2025, Franklin Central

During his freshman season at Franklin Central, [player_tooltip player_id=’196638’ first=’Nevan’ last=’Tutterow’] showcased skills that make his sophomore season all the more exciting. Tutterow has outstanding arm talent. He can make all of the throws. Crucial is his ability to make good throws while under pressure. The ceiling is extremely high for Tutterow. He enters 2022 looking to build off of a 2021 campaign that saw him complete 107 of 184 pass attempts with seven touchdown passes and 13 interceptions. He played 10 games on varsity last year, handling many of the punting duties as well. Look for Tutterow to have a big season this year.

[player_tooltip player_id=’321399’ first=’Kaden’ last=’Acton’], 5’11, 180 pounds, Running Back, 2025, Greensburg

[player_tooltip player_id=’321399’ first=’Kaden’ last=’Acton’] has the potential to be the workhorse running back for Greensburg in his sophomore season. Acton is dangerous when running off-tackle. When it comes time to change directions, Acton knows exactly what to do and how. He has the vision to spot potential cutback lanes. Once he sees the hole, he puts his foot in the ground and bursts through. [player_tooltip player_id=’321399’ first=’Kaden’ last=’Acton’] can also return kickoffs, applying many of those same skills. Last season, Acton mustered 603 rushing yards with four touchdowns. He added a pair of receiving touchdowns.

With the start of the season quickly approaching, hope springs eternal. The same can be said looking at some of the younger players. Today, we will do just that. Here is a look at some of the most promising underclassmen on the offensive side of the ball in the state.
