In doing so, they not only witnessed their stock rise, but they managed to provide an impact for their team that no other player could manage to provide. Because of this consistent, and efficient level of contribution, we fully expect each of the top returning scorers listed below to return in full action for their teams next year, creating more opportunities for success for their teams.
2025: Damon June (RB)- Jacksonville
While many players are not expected to start, or make an immediate impact as a freshman, Damon June still stepped up for his team in a huge way last year, finishing the 2021 season with 128 points in a 14 game span. Not only is he one of the next big prospects at the RB position in NC, but he has already been on a rampage, proving so with an average of around 9.1 points a game, with a total of 21 points by the end of the year. As he continues to develop and grow, look for him to be one of the more effective, and consistent scorers in the state of North Carolina.
2024: Anthony Quinn Jr. (RB)- Seventy-First
As a sophomore, Quinn already had a huge impact on his team’s offense last year, as he finished up with around 206 points, and an average of 15.8 points a game. In addition to this, he saw himself score 33 times in a 13 game span, proving that he can be a valuable asset for his team, no matter how difficult games may get down the stretch. Look for him to continue to produce at a high rate next year, and to continue to develop in overall frame, and ability to play the RB position.
2023: Kemarion Baldwin (RB)- St. Pauls
Throughout a 12 game span last season, Kemarion Baldwin stood above the rest of the junior players across the state, as he finished the season with 264 total points. As a RB, this not only alluded to his versatility as a back, but it also showed that he was able to quite literally carry a team on his back, and with his legs. By the end of the season, he averaged more than 3 TD’s a game, with an average of 22 points a game, with a season total of 36 TD’s by the end of the year. Not only do we expect him to continue to produce next season, but we foresee a high level of production in his future.
2023: Marqies Mccombs (RB)- Chase
Excitingly enough, Mccombs is another prospect that is added to the list of RB’s that showed out for their team last season, further contributing to one of the highest totals of scoring that an individual saw in the state, or the class last season. In 2021, Mccombs witnessed a final total of 252 points by the end of the year, and an average of 21 points by the end of the season. With this, he also managed to score 40 times in a 12 game span. Next season, not only is he likely to take a bulk of the carries for his team, but we fully expect him to be the returning leading scorer for his team.
