This includes the 2025 prospects, and sometimes, even younger than that. Across the state of North Carolina, we have noticed, and have given props to some of the best, younger specialists across the state, who have hung points up like the seniors, while also doing so to put their teams in the best position possible. This talent, and ability to withstand a high level of pressure at a young age does not go unnoticed, which is a large reason why we want to give a look to some more of the top kickers within North Carolina’s 2025 class, as they are most certainly on the rise.
Lorenzon Cardarelli- Legion Collegiate Academy
Cardarelli did not put up a massive amount of points last year, but he proved to have a good leg, a solid swing on his kicks, and a future for his team, as he put up 10 points in a 6 game span. In this span, these 10 points came from extra point attempts. This season total resulted in a bit of an odd average points per game, as he finished the year with about 1.7 points a game as an average. Next season, expect him to not only add points to his totals, but to continue to rise and shine as an up and coming kicker, especially if he gets to see more attempts at field goals.
Joseph Hamric- West Brunswick
While 15 points may not seem to be that impressive, last season, Hamric still managed to strap up his pads, and compete against some of the better talent that North Carolina has to offer. As a true freshman, he served as support in the extra point game, and scored on 15 different extra points, causing his season total, within the 6 games he played in, to come out to about 2.5 points a game. While he has plenty to work on in regards to his timing, and arch, we still see potential in him, especially as he was able to see playing time much earlier than players his age typically do.
Liam Harding- East Carteret
During the 2021 season, Harding got the chance to step up for his team, which was very exciting to watch, especially as he put up 15 points, on 15 different extra point attempts. While this may seem to be minimal, his performance comes as a true freshman, who was able to take full advantage of an opportunity to shine as a young prospect looking for playing time. He proved to kick with good accuracy, decent timing, and an okay arch. As he is continuing to develop as a player, we expect him to be able to put each of these pieces together more effectively in the future.
Christian Buck- Rocky Mount
For Buck, the 2021 season ended up being a year in which he managed to see time for his team in a 6 game span. During these 6 games, he still made the most of his opportunity, as he took every single extra point kick that he kicked, very seriously. By the end of the season, he had hit 17 kicks, and averaged around 2.8 points a game, causing him to be one of the most efficient 2025 North Carolina prospects at the kicker position last year. Look for him to continue to develop in his overall leg strength, and accuracy, as this will be a differentiating factor between himself, and other classmates of his position group throughout NC next year.
Tristan Lyle- Southern Alamance
Just like a few of the other prospects on this list, Lyle saw playing time at the varsity level last year, but only in select doses. By the end of the year, he had seen playing time in 5 games, but found himself with an average of 3 points a game by the end of that time frame. In those games, he not only hit 12 extra points with a high level of accuracy, but he also saw a successful field goal attempt, totaling 1 single Field Goal by the end of this year. While this is impressive, we also feel that it is a good sign of the things to come for his, as he is already having opportunities to make plays in various ways. Expect him to continue to grow and develop as a prospect next season.
