Even with the dead period taking place in the state of Arkansas over the next two weeks, recruiting news is still running full steam ahead. Recruiting news is the one bit of news this time of year that is always plentiful. Today we are going to take a look at some recruiting news taking place over the past week in the state of Arkansas. We are going to look at new scholarship offers as well as commitments over the past few days.

Over the past week, the recruiting of [player_tooltip player_id="304269" first="TJ" last="Lindsey"] continues to heat up. Lindsey paid a visit to the Georgia Bulldogs a few days ago. However, Lindsey was not finished, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have extended a scholarship offer to the talented Bryant defensive lineman. The disruptive edge rusher has the speed needed to disrupt offensive backfields on Saturdays in the future. Lindsey is a prospect that I expect to continue to blow up from a recruiting perspective this season.

Colvin has had a productive offseason and is focused on the upcoming 2022 football season. He is an offensive lineman that plays with a chip on his shoulder. Colvin is a prospect that wants to finish every block he is involved in. The Clarksville powerhouse placed a verbal commitment to Harding University a few days ago. Colvin is a prospect that I expect to earn more scholarship offers as the season goes on this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="156795" first="Colin" last="Jones"]-Defensive Line-Rogers-2024
[player_tooltip player_id="156795" first="Colin" last="Jones"] is a versatile prospect that can operate on both the offensive and defensive lines with impressive effectiveness. He can play the defensive end or the tackle positions and can rush the passer well at both positions. Jones has had a busy June, attending plenty of camps including Nebraska and Sam Houston State camps. I expect Jones and the Rogers Mounties to surprise people this season. Jones has the potential to have a strong season for Rogers. Keep an eye on him this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="214836" first="Donovyn" last="Omolo"]-Quarterback-Conway-2024
One of the quarterbacks that opened many eyes last season was [player_tooltip player_id="214836" first="Donovyn" last="Omolo"]. He helped lead Conway to the state semi-finals last season and is looking to take another step forward this season. Omolo has had impressive camp performances the past few weeks at Arkansas State and Memphis. He is a quarterback that has good command of the pocket and knows when to scramble out of the pocket. Omolo has a strong and accurate arm, he can fit the ball into some tight windows and do some scrambling out of the pocket. Omolo is a player to watch out for this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="209859" first="Parker" last="Brown"]-Running Back-Heber Springs-2024
With some eye-opening performances in track and field to go along with a strong 2021 season, it surprises me to see Brown under the radar. Brown has excellent speed having been timed at 4.40 in the forty-yard dash. He is a player that can stretch the field in the passing game as well. Brown put on a great show at the Arkansas State camp a few days ago. I look for Brown to have an explosive season this season, he has the potential to light up Friday nights this fall.
