At the tail end of last week, we broke down some playmaking wide receivers who are being overlooked. Today, we evaluate another group of wide receivers in that same category. These rising prospects will be looking to turn heads as seniors, and they are certainly capable. [player_tooltip player_id="300322" first="Jackson" last="Parker"], 6’2, 150 pounds, Shelbyville https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jackson-parker/5dmgjb6AYEed17VIN4payg/default.htm [player_tooltip player_id="300322" first="Jackson" last="Parker"] is a playmaker on the perimeter- both offensively and defensively- for Shelbyville. A season ago, Parker had one touchdown reception and nearly 200 yards on 16 catches. At his cornerback position, Parker supplied eight tackles with three key interceptions. Parker provides even more versatility by serving as the team’s punter. He booted the ball 28 times as a junior. Those 28 punts totaled 757 yards with one punt being down inside the 20-yard line. [player_tooltip player_id="300322" first="Jackson" last="Parker"] finds a variety of ways to contribute. He can be a tough player to keep off the field at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="185527" first="Duncan" last="Keller"], 6’1, 160 pounds, Covington https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/duncan-keller/QPtMu8gEEemAzfp8ouYFiw/default.htm Consistency is always key. Wide receivers that consistently make plays can quickly earn the trust of their quarterback and coaches. Consistency is what you get with [player_tooltip player_id="185527" first="Duncan" last="Keller"]. The Covington star recorded a century of receptions, last year. He compiled a remarkable 1,350 receiving yards with 18 touchdown receptions. On the defensive side of the ball, Keller keeps the energy and intensity coming. He posted 31 tackles, in 2021, with one tackle-for-loss. He showed that he can bring many of the same ball skills over from his wide receiver position. A season ago, he nabbed a pair of interceptions, defended against seven passes, forced one fumble and recovered one fumble. [player_tooltip player_id="185230" first="Luke" last="Cheatham"], 6’2, 180 pounds, Martinsville https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/luke-cheatham/9HDBc7lfEemAzfp8ouYFiw/default.htm Not every receiver can be the one to stretch the field and try to test the safeties. In order for the offense, to run efficiently, having wide receivers who can run short routes at a high level is crucial. [player_tooltip player_id="185230" first="Luke" last="Cheatham"] can do just that. Cheatham uses a really good release off the line-of-scrimmage to get inside of the defender. He has the ability to set the corner up outside and open up the space required. During his junior season, Cheatham racked up 419 receiving yards across 35 receptions. Cheatham added a pair of touchdown catches, adding to the list of reasons why fans should be excited to see what he does in 2022. [player_tooltip player_id="185228" first="Evan" last="Dienhart"], 5’9, 170 pounds, Lafayette Central Catholic https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/evan-dienhart/O_Yd4lu_EemA0ZFtwg1OMQ/default.htm [player_tooltip player_id="185228" first="Evan" last="Dienhart"] can come up with big plays offensively, and he can set the offense up in good field position. Dienhart works the middle of the field nicely. He can find spaces either in front of, or behind, the linebackers. Dienhart can set the offense up well with his ability to return punts. Dienhart matches good vision with elusiveness- explaining why he averaged over 14 yards per punt return, last year. As a receiver, Dienhart accumulated 1,019 receiving yards with 65 receptions and nine touchdowns.
