Oregon’s Top 2023 WR’s (Ranked #1-12)

The 2023 rankings were just updated and released <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2022/07/updated-2023-oregon-rankings-5/">https://prepredzone.com/2022/07/updated-2023-oregon-rankings-5/</a>, listing the top 200 athletes in the state of Oregon. Over the next few weeks we will breakdown the positional groups and what each individual brings to the table. Have a look at the WR's.. &nbsp; *Athletes will only be listed on one side of the football &nbsp; <strong>WR's</strong> &nbsp; &nbsp; 1.[player_tooltip player_id="147861" first="Luke" last="Leighton"] 6-5 195 Sheldon<strong> (OFFERS: Air Force, Army, Portland St)</strong> Leighton's combination of size and overall versatility is rare. He could very well end up on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. That said as I could see him going for over 1000+ receiving yards this year, after an impressive junior campaign where he racked up 1st team all-league accolades on both sides of the ball. 2.[player_tooltip player_id="206761" first="Andrew" last="Walker"] 6-1 170 South Medford<strong> (OFFERS: Portland St)</strong> The state champion in the 100 meters will have multiple options at the division 1 level. He was one of the only underclassmen to earn 1st team all-conference honors on both sides of the football and the 10.6 speed puts him in a special category. 3.[player_tooltip player_id="271479" first="Braiden" last="Copeland"] 6-2 195 McNary- Copeland grabbed 1st team all-league honors on both sides of the ball, coming from a talented family with brother Tyler Copeland being the conference POY last season. He has gone somewhat under the radar but is legit on D as well. 4.[player_tooltip player_id="147254" first="AJ" last="Perez"] 6-3 170 Tigard- Perez definitely looks the part and has put together some impressive film both on the field and the 7v7 circuit. It will come down to whether or not the Tigers decide to air it out with their run-oriented attack. 5.[player_tooltip player_id="205826" first="Blake" last="Groshong"] 6-4 210 Bend- Groshong has legit size and is a super talented overall three sport athlete, who a lot of people don't know about. If he pursues football collegiately, he could very well end up as a DE or TE with his body type. 6.[player_tooltip player_id="270226" first="Owen" last="West"] 6-1 180 Lake Oswego- West earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a Junior and has the potential of blowing up in the TRL this season with the Lakers graduating a deep senior class. 7.[player_tooltip player_id="270089" first="Jeremiah" last="Schwartz"] 6-3 185 Ridgeview- Schwartz racked up 1st team all-conference honors at TE as a junior and has had a nice off season. It will be telling from a projection standpoint to see what he does playing the likes of Summit this year. 8.[player_tooltip player_id="271347" first="Cooper" last="Hiday"] 5-11 160 Wilsonville- Definitely one of 5A's best. Hiday had a big junior season, averaging 26.3 yards per catch with 9 TDs. If he is one of the state's best overall WRs he will dominate 5A competition. 9.[player_tooltip player_id="110230" first="Leithan" last="Thompson"] 6-3 200 Sandy- One of the more versatile athletes in the Mt Hood. Thompson earned 2nd team all-conference honors at TE/DB. He is a physical athlete who has the potential to play 3-4 different spots collegiately. 10.[player_tooltip player_id="272366" first="Ethan" last="Carlson"] 6-2 195 Summit- Look for Carlson to be one of the best at the 5A level this season. He was an honorable mention all-conference athlete catching 19 passes for 253 yards in 2021. 11.[player_tooltip player_id="376151" first="Cooper" last="Beltz"] 6-3 190 Clackamas- Beltz looks the part and should be a featured athlete for the Cavs this season. This will be a telling year for Clack with a few players transferring and Nelson HS now in the mix. 12.[player_tooltip player_id="271425" first="Lucas" last="Burkeen"] 5-10 170 Lakeridge- Burkeen had a good year at receiver, catching 25 passes and 3 TDs. He was also one of the top return men in the state, totaling 730 yards (418 kick/punt returns). &nbsp;
