Norcal: Three Heavy Hitters To Note

A downhill thumper, he has a quick trigger and can explode through blockers with heavy hands while a very active pass rusher when coming off the edge. Also showing a quick play diagnosis, he sniffs out screens and draws while taking good angles in the open field and plays with a high motor and good toughness. In the passing game, he can cover backs and shows solid movement abilities laterally and gets his hands on pass catchers quickly that are coming underneath. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>LB [player_tooltip player_id=’25405’ first=’Dubee’ last=’Lopa’], Grant HS 2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lopa is one of the hardest hitters across all of Northern California and is a high impact player at the next level. He is explosive near the LOS while running through ball carriers and packs a punch when getting off blocks. On tape, he also shows nice closing speed and takes good angles behind the LOS and in the open field when pursuing backside. Versatile when pass rushing, he shows a quick use of hands/hips while able to perform well timed pressures up the middle and will be one of the better defensive players across all of Northern California in 2022. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>LB Jake Hall, Oak Ridge HS 2023</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hall is one of the top linebackers across the very tough SFL and should find his home at inside linebacker in college. A very sure tackler in the box thumper, he plays with a low hat through traffic and shoots gaps quickly while exploding through contact at the POA. More of an in the box player on tape, he has under-rated athleticism outside the box and shows quick COD and can track down ball carriers backside.
