This list is not the biggest piece of prospects I have ever written from a camp but goes the distance as far as US geography goes. We cover five different states from Hawaii to Iowa on this prospect list of standouts, really putting together our plan to make sure no prospect goes uncovered here at Prep Redzone no matter where you might be from on a US map. Take a look as we dive into Part II, as of course there is more coming from Fargo in the coming days!
Magnus Wright | OL | Champlin Park (MN) | 2023
Talk about an OL prospect that made a ton of noise at the NDSU Prospect Camp, that was Magnus Wright from Champlin Park. Magnus caught PLENTY of Division II coaches attention, drawing multiple offers in Fargo. What did Magnus do well in 1v1s? He kept a smooth pad level in the trenches and won a ton of battles consistently with the leverage of his hands and the strength showed, he was able to grasp against his counterparts. Magnus’s tape shows an OL prospect that has the solid foot speed to get across the line with his pull-blocking ability and has that finishing demeanor we as scouts all love to watch come full circle with his drives finishing his man on the turf. The nastiness with his physicality in the trenches sticks out big time, as Magnus attacks the numbers with a massive punch. He also shows a competitive bend that coaches will love for the next level in his 270-pound frame. Can he gain even more traction in upcoming July camps? I certainly think that’s a possibility for sure with the skillsets he showed off at NDSU.
Maverick Kaminski Maverick Kaminski 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL River Falls | 2023 State WI | OL | River Falls (WI) | 2023
Maverick showed an athletic 6’3 260-pound offensive linemen in the trenches at NDSU. He may not be the biggest linemen you will ever see, but man he sure is effective with his speed getting out of his stance from what I got to see in Fargo. When it was time for 1v1s, Maverick showed a strong contact level with his work in the trenches. That viewing we caught in Fargo, shows validity in some of Maverick’s tape against Waunakee last season, as he has blasting speed to start his leverage train early in some of his earliest tapes from last season. I also love his multi-engaging ability on several of his reps on tape, as those loose hips can engage on multiple defenders throughout the duration of his play. He has a downhill ability out of that stance to show off a freight train type moving down the tracks with no brakes. He can develop some more efficient techniques to get the most out of his hands going up against bigger defenders as he gets below the pads to drive the defender off track and off-balance. I certainly think Maverick is due for an offer here soon this summer at the Division II level as a developing hog molly that has a high ceiling on where his game can take him.
Bryer Prochniak Bryer Prochniak 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB North Union | 2023 IA | RB | North Union (IA) | 2023
This wasn’t the first time I have gotten a live evaluation of Bryer, and I am sure it will not be his last based on his performance at NDSU. Bryer came to our Minnetonka Showcase last winter and was on our 1st Team All-Camp Team for running backs, so seeing his development from December did not surprise me at all. He showed a chopped lower body that was just built to muscle thru contact from the drills I got to watch in Fargo, as he was one of the more developed running backs I got to watch. His frame and work ethic put together tons of opportunities for yards after contact for North Union. His tape shows a very effective cutter that doesn’t over dance with his solid footwork to get from point A to point B. I use the word finished a lot in my evaluations and Bryer has the finished speed I would be looking for if I was a college coach looking for a next-level tailback. He racked up over 2000 total yards last season for North Union along with 19 touchdowns and I would be remiss to say he’s not due for a bigger year in 2022. There is also a lot to like about the vision he has with his cuts, as he shows a great line of patience in getting to the spot he wants to go. An RB prospect that has started to make a ton of waves this summer on his recruiting trail with a handful of offers from D2 and NAIA levels. More coming from this kid!
Julius Morris | OL | Sartell (MN) | 2025
I always love making my trips in the summer up to Sartell to watch my handful of Sabers prospects, and I believe I found another we can keep tabs on in the 2025 class in Julian Morris. I was impressed with the persistence Julius showed within his Indy reps as he showed considerably good hand placement on the reps I got to watch at NDSU. Julius also impressed me with his change of direction in my eyes up in Fargo thru the bag drill where his balance was another skill set I was drawn to with some of the younger bucks in the offensive line session. An incoming sophomore to watch in the trenches I will be watching develop a lot around the 320 area code.
Aidan Boehle Aidan Boehle 6'6" | 210 lbs | DL Minnetonka | 2023 State MN | DL | Minnetonka (MN) | 2023
Aiden was quite impressive with his balance and poise he showed from the drills I got to watch up at NDSU. His reactive instincts were exceptional as far as my eyes could see coming off shed blocks. Aiden’s hands are very soft coming off the edge, as he provides a light touch in his 6’6 210-pound frame to use his long reach to get his hands in the pocket of the backfield. I also like his vision, as he shows a creative motor to crash into the gaps less traveled by most defensive ends to find the ball effectively. I loved seeing that Aiden looks even faster coming to the ball up in Bison County than what he shows off in junior tape, as another trip to Minnetonka this summer might be in order to watch this young man more in-depth with his skillsets. Aidan has a few NSIC offers and an FCS offer, but I think still there’s so much growth he can get his frame that more college coaches should come calling.
Out of Network Prospects to Watch
When I make my trips out to camp, I don’t zoom in on a particular geographical region I am scouting, I try and scout as many prospects as I can. These two prospects come from the state of Montana and Hawaii, and although we do not have Prep Redzone sites in these states (yet) these two were certainly worth a mention in Fargo.
Alex Donnelly | OL/DL | Custer County (MT) | 2023
Alex was a two-way line prospect from Miles City, Montana I got to watch up in Fargo and although he doesn’t have tape yet, he showed some athleticism in the skillsets he brought to Bison Country. I liked his contact level and physicality throughout the duration of his release in the reps I got to watch in Indy Drills. A very under-the-radar prospect worth a look if I was a college coach recruiting the state of Montana that has some development tree he can grow on.
Charlie Peterson | WR | Maui (HI) | 2025
Charlie is by far the farthest location I have ever scouted for Prep Redzone coming from the island of Maui, Hawaii. Charlie showed an aggressive twitch when it came to changing directions on his routes and showed smooth hands in the couple of reps I got to watch from Fargo. As just an incoming sophomore at Maui High, I hopefully will get to get my hands on this kid’s sophomore tape in 2022 as I would love to track this kid over the next several years on what kind of progress he makes based on the upside he showed at the NDSU prospect camp.
