Analysis: Maurice Williams Maurice Williams 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Shadow Creek | 2024 State TX is a player to keep an eye on for the upcoming 2022 football season. This young man has a very solid build with a good height for the free safety position. Williams has very good speed which allows him to cover a good portion of the field in pass coverage. He is also a premier playmaker on special teams, blocking punts and making great tackles. Next, he plays with a high motor is is very physical when coming up to make a play in the box, or in the open field. Then, Williams does a really great job at forcing fumbles, and intercepting passes making plays on the ball. Watch out for him to have an excellent year this season!

Best Tackler: Gavin Collins- 5’9 150Ibs/FS,CB/ Clear Creek High School
Analysis: Gavin Collins has what it takes to become a premier player and make a difference for his team! Collins is a player that can shed blocks very well, and is an excellent tackler using proper technique. He is a safety that makes sure to lay the wood every time on any one who has the ball! This young prospect does an excellent job at reading the quarter back, while maintaining discipline in pass coverage which is vital to a team’s defense. With decent speed, he does a good job closing in on ball carriers as well! With more training and development, Collins has the potential to become a monster at the safety position.

Best Press Corner Ephraim Dotson Ephraim Dotson 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Fort Bend Hightower | 2024 State TX – 5’11 171Ibs/FS,CB/ Hightower High School
Analysis: Ephraim Dotson Ephraim Dotson 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Fort Bend Hightower | 2024 State TX is another defensive back to keep an eye on in the future! One of the first things that pop out about this guy is the fact that he is an extremely physical tackler. Dotson is a very quick defensive back clocking a 4.13 shuttle time, while also running a 4.54 40 yard dash possessing good speed. This means that he can break on the ball at any given moment to break up passes, or get an interception. He is also really good in man coverage, keeping an eye on the receiver’s hips, and staying in position to make a play to prevent the receiver from catching the ball. Dotson does a superb job filling in the gaps and taking on blocks to help his teammates make a difference in the ball game too! Look for him to have a great season in the fall!

Best Man Corner: Carson Williams- 5’10 138Ibs/CB/ Westfield High School
Analysis: Carson Williams is one of the best defensive backs I have seen, when it comes to pass coverage. Even though he is undersized, his technique in the passing game is superb. He has very good hip mobility and jump ball skills, and can react on a dime, which makes it very difficult to catch on him. Williams, if he continues his level of play, will become a force to be reckoned with. Furthermore, this young man is not afraid to come up and tackle either, putting his body on the line! Also, he has a smooth back peddle and good footwork when it comes to pass coverage. Being a sleeper player, Williams has the potential to become a very good defensive back in the future! Look out for him to improve in the future to come.

Best Sideline-to-Sideline Range: Carter Jenkins-6’0 187Ibs/OLB,FS,SS/ Klein Forest High School
Analysis: Carter Jenkins, out of Klein Forest High School, is an athlete that deserves to be recognized on this list. Carter, clocking a 4.27 shuttle time, a 4.6 40 yard dash time, and possessing really good strength, is a linebacker that is a force to be reckoned with. Jenkins is very physical at the point of attack, and is an aggressive tackler as well. He has very good speed for a linebacker, and does stop pursuing the ball carrier until the play is over! Also, he is an extremely good blitzer on the edge or in the gaps, and he times his blitzes overtly well. I will not be surprised when Carter Jenkins begins to rack up offers from universities. This young man has a bright future ahead of him!
