There are numerous towns and cities across the talent-rich state including the larger metropolitan areas of Baltimore, DC, Western Maryland, and the Eastern Shore. Here is the Pre-Season Second Team Maryland 3A All State Offense.
Jamarion Johnson | 6’2’’ 195 lbs | Quarterback | Great Mills High School
Johnson has a big arm and moves well within the pocket. He looks to lead Great Mills to another playoff run this season. Last year the Hornets finished the season 6-4 and lost in the 1st Round of the State Playoffs by one point to South River. Johnson’s return give them the opportunity to make a deeper run this year

Ray Moore | 6’5’’ 170 lbs | Quarterback | Mervo High School
Moore will take over as the signal caller for the defending State Champion Mustangs. He has the prototypical height and throws a very accurate deep ball which fits into Mervo’s offense. A transfer from The Avalon School, Moore is used to facing some of the state’s toughest competition within the private school realm. This experience will serve him well throughout the season and going into the playoffs as the Mustangs push to defend their State Title.
Ahmad Taylor | 5’8’’ 185 lbs | Running Back | Arundel High School
Taylor earned Baltimore Touchdown Club Super 22 Team and Second Team All State honors last season. He led Arundel to an 8-4 season and State Quarter Final appearance before losing to the State Runner- Up, Dundalk. Taylor was also a big part of why the Wildcats averaged over 23 points per game. He recently received an offer from Marist.
Andrew Peperone | 5’11’’ 190 lbs | Running Back | Mt. Hebron High School
Peperone was also named to the BTC Super 22 Team last season. The Vikings finished one game below .500 during the regular season, but were able to make it to the Second Round of the State Playoffs. Peperone returns as one of the best backs in the state, and gives Mt. Hebron a strong chance to be one of the toughest teams to play in Howard County this season.
Josh Hayward | 6’ 200 lbs | Athlete | Frederick High School
Hayward is another athlete was named to the BTC Super 22 Team as an Athlete. He was a huge part of Frederick’s success last season and led them to a 10-3 season along with an appearance in the Maryland 3A State Semi- Finals. Frederick lost to Linganore in the playoffs, but the Cadets’ fullback was a key element to them scoring close to 39 points per games. Look for Frederick to make another strong run as he and teammate, Travon Neal, are returning for another season.
Tristin Richardson | 5’10’’ 185 lbs | Athlete | Franklin High School
Richardson is one of the youngest athlete’s to make our list. He was moved up to varsity at the end of his Freshmen year, and had an opportunity to show his explosiveness. He has the athleticism to play multiple positions on the field, and will have a great chance for success playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the state.
Kordell Batton | 5’9’’ 165 lbs | Wide Receiver | St. Charles High School
Batton is one of the top defensive backs in 3A, but also was go to play maker on the opposite side of the ball. He tallied a total of 724 All Purpose Yards, 354 Rushing Yards, 11.8 Yards Per Carry, 4 Rushing Touchdowns, 20 Receptions, 330 Receiving Yards, and 1 Receiving Touchdown.
Jaiden Bowins | 6’1’’ 170 lbs | Wide Receiver | South Hagerstown High School
Bowins is a shifty wide receiver who will be a key part of the South Hagerstown offense this season. The Rebels finished 5-5 and made a first round appearance in the State Playoffs.
Jason Lindsay | 5’10’’ 170 lbs | Wide Receiver | Poly High School
Lindsey will be a key component for the Engineers next season. Last season Poly finished with a recovered 7-4 and made it to the Second Round of the State Playoffs. Lindsey contributed with a total of 643 All Purpose Yards, 12 Receptions, 407 Receiving Yards, 16 Yards Per Receptions, 4 Receiving Touchdowns, 236 Rushing Yards, 9.83 Yards Per Rush, and 1 Rushing Touchdown.
Zack Keister | 6’1’’ 270 lbs | Offensive Line | Linganore High School
Linganore finished the season with a 12-1 record and made it all the way to the Maryland 3A State Champion game before losing to Northern High School. Keister and the Offensive Line unit was a big factor in the Lancers averaging 37 points per game.
Darron Deniton | 6’4’’ 340 lbs | Offensive Line | Mervo High School
Deniton is one of the top overall lineman in the state. He has the ability to dominate on both sides of the ball. He returns to one of the best lines in the state whose physicality up front is a huge reason as to why the Mustangs were the 3A/4A State Champions.
Chase Haught | 6’2’’ 290 lbs | Offensive Line | Oakdale High School
Haught, who has been named to our Pre-Season First Team 3A All State Defense, was also named 1st team All County Offense in 2019 and 2021 along with being named to the BTC Super 22 as a Defensive Linemen.
Logan Makfinsky | 6’1’’ 250 lbs | Offensive Line | Rockville High School
Makfinsky was earned First Team All MOCO County honors last season as a sophomore. The Rams finished 5-4 and with a First Round Playoff exit after losing to Oakdale. Makfinsky now enters this season as an upperclassmen and will be a force for the Rockville offense.
Aidan Butler | 6’3’’ 290 lbs | Offensive Line | Damascus High School
Damascus has a history of producing elite talent lineman and Butler is one of the players who are next up to follow the tradition. He was named First Team All County last fall, and currently has an offer from Georgetown. Damascus went 7-4 and lost in the 2nd Round of the playoffs last season, but the emergence of Butler and others should take them further this year.
