They are going to play great defense every year. Their offense is going to always be the deciding factor for them. Can’t win championships there unless you have a good offense. Louisville has a new offensive coordinator this year and fans are anxious to see what he has in store. Louisville has won two of the last four 4A state championships. It’s never a surprise to see them win another one. BIG Louisville is looking forward to being back in the mix next year.
Gabe Moore, 6-4 245, DE, 2023
Gabe is going to be the heart of the Powercat defense next year. He is coming off of a great season. He is a guy that manhandled the interior line for Louisville in 2021. He is a smooth criminal. He is not a guy who is going to talk a lot of smack. He just lines up and uses his skills to handle business. Their defense will be on his back this year. He is going to be keeping offensive lineman off those LBs and getting to the QB helping his secondary out.
Chris Savior, 6-1 160, DB, 2023
Savior is a guy who leads the secondary for the Mighty Wildcats. He plays with a lot of swag and does not allow many passes to get caught in his area. He is a very talented kid who has great hands. He doesn’t pick passes off left and right cause aren’t many thrown his way. However, when he does gets his hands on the ball he will come down with it. I saw this summer in 7v7 he was lining up with the offense too. Looks like the new offensive coordinator plans to have Chris help out on the other side of the island. That won’t be a bad move.
Laterrius Haynes “Man Man”, 6-0 180, LB/DB, 2023
This guy is a country horse back riding stud who wants whatever his opponent wants. He likes to be around contact and does not mind hitting. He is a guy that can line up at LB one play, stop the run, then go to the secondary and catch an interception. He is one of their most versatile players. Look for him to be making big plays this year.
Key Jackson, 5-9 170, ATH, 2023
Key is definitely the most versatile player that Louisville has. He plays all over the field for the Wildcats. He is a receiver that gets open and will give Hunt a great target to be comfortable with. Key also will relieve Hunt at QB if he needs some time to overlook some things from the sideline this season. He is going to be one of their return specialist that will be deadly on special teams. Key is going to have a big season for Louisville.
JaDen Triplett, 5-9 180, WR/RB, 2023
JaDen Triplett has a route that is hard to stop. His combinations of ways to run the short routes and turn them into big yards is unbelievable. He is going to be very crucial when it comes to their passing and running game this year. JaDen is another one of those versatile guys that Louisville has. He will be back and forth from the RB to WR position a lot. He knows how to get a few hard rushing yards and then line up at receiver to make a play on the island. I’m looking forward to watching JaDen making a lot of plays this season. He is a true playmaker that has been lighting up defensive backs during the summer.
Kenneth Hill, Jr., 5-9 170, DB, 2024
Kenneth is going to have to step up and be a big factor in the Wildcat defense this year. Kid was impressive at Jeffery Simmons camp and he won best DB. He will be playing cornerback and safety. He does a great job of moving his feet in his back pedal while covering. He also does a great job of defending passes when he is holding taller receivers. I think he needs to do a better job of not using his hands so much past five yards. He is an aggressive guy and at times he does not realize how much hand checking he is doing down the field. Hill does not have offers yet, but I think a good summer of him attending camps will help his stock. He has been clocked in at 4.5 secs in the 40.
Jykevious Goss, 5-9 170, RB/WR, 2024
Jykevious is a very athletic guy who has a big heart. He plays with a lot of grit and gets open on the island for the Wildcats. He totes the ball very good and has some nice speed. I think he will have a thousand yard season for the Wildcats. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but a good season this fall could change that.
Semaj Knowles, 6-0 165, DB, 2024
Semaj is a guy that Coach Shorter loves to talk about. When I asked him about Knowles his face lit up. Semaj is a player that will make it to the D1 level. He is a very solid secondary player who is also a leader on the field. This is a guy who does not mind coming up to hit as well. Semaj brings experience from last season to the Wildcat defense. He is going to a major factor in Louisville’s secondary next season. He can line up and play multiple positions in the secondary, but he will play more at corner.
Victor Rush, 6-0 185, 2023
As you can see I didn’t put a position besides his name. Vic lined up at guard last season and I’ve seen him at camps catching passes on defenders. This guy is a very instrumental piece to the Wildcat team as a whole. May see him on defense at end, you may see him playing slot or you may see him playing tight end. Victor says he will do anything to help his team win. I think in college he probably will find himself playing LB. He doesn’t have any offers yet and that may be due to him holding it down on the offensive line at such a small size. This kid will have a good season and will help the cats handle business.
Swahili Slaughter, 6-4 180, WR, 2023
Swahili will be one of the starting receivers for the Wildcats this season. He is a tall guy that Louisville will be tossing it up to. He is going to be a big target for the young sophomore they have at QB. Swahili has great hands and can run. He should be making a lot of plays for the Wildcats this season. He had a great summer working out and has gotten better at route running. The more he polishes himself up for the season the better chance he has of getting some offers. I think he is a guy that can be trained to be a very dominant receiver.
