Our PrepRedzone Illinois Class of 24’ Rankings just got updated after hours of film analysis and adding new young men to the rankings. This is going to be a long series of new additions to our rankings to make sure that each young man is highlighted. That being said, there are P5 caliber recruits down to D3/JUCO recruits. The moral of the story, each of these young men did the work and deserved a spot in our rankings. We’re here to highlight their hard work. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Pt. 12 of our New Additions to the 24’ Rankings.

Take a Look at our FULL 24’ Rankings HERE!

[player_tooltip player_id="354167" first="Rhett" last="Pierce"] Twitter

Mr. Pierce is an inside linebacker that can cause havoc coming off the edge blitz as he can close quickly on the quarterback once he turns the corner delivering a heavy hit on the quarterback securing sacks. If he isn’t able to get to the quarterback when coming on a blitz, he can get his hands up in the passing lane as he’s rushing through the A gap to deflect passes. This young man is also used in special teams where he can fly down the field to secure the open field tackle minimizing the return. He also flashes this ability to trigger downhill quickly to secure the tackle at/near the line of scrimmage for no/little gain on the play. Overall, this young man got his feet wet with Varsity competition last season and I look forward to seeing how he uses this to his advantage this fall.

https://twitter.com/rhettpierce5/status/1461480254833414151?s=20&t=A8FSyEMQXE0koFnmXlmiUg

[player_tooltip player_id="354052" first="Max" last="Munoz"] Highlights

Mr. Munoz flashes his ability to wash the defensive lineman down when he’s on the o-line. He does so by getting out of his stance quickly and latching on quickly before he drives his feet through the whistle. On defense, he can work as a 7 tech flashing his quick first step off the edge where he can win at the turn point to generate pressure on the quarterback. I like his potential here on the defensive side of the ball, I’m interested to see which side of the ball he molds into.

[player_tooltip player_id="354168" first="Ben" last="Starmann"] Twitter Highlights

Mr. Starmann is an inside linebacker that flashes his ability to shoot through the A gap to disrupt plays in the backfield, closing on the ball carrier quickly when filling holes in run support, and flowing to the ball to secure the tackle in open space. When he’s dropped back in pass protection, he flashes his ability to deliver a heavy hit across the middle of the field when receivers run crossing routes. Overall, this young man stands at 6’2 205 and has a lot of untapped potential yet to come to light. I look forward to seeing how he produces this fall season, keep a close eye on this young man.

[player_tooltip player_id="277580" first="Matthew" last="Cleggs"] Twitter

Mr. Cleggs showcases his ability to stand strong in the pocket while the pocket is collapsing and gets the ball off under pressure delivering strikes downfield. When doing so, he can make level 3 throws putting the ball only where his receivers can get it and catch it in stride. What stands out about this young man is his ability to add a touch on level 2 throws putting the ball in the soft spot in the middle of the field right between the safety playing over the top and the linebacker playing underneath. He also flashes his ability to work on the move out of platform where his upper/lower body are working in unison. Overall, I’m excited to see how this young man competes this fall as you could very well see his stock rise.

https://twitter.com/mattcleggs/status/1463621854535602177?s=20&t=YcG2u77ek536hK3Kt0oUVA

[player_tooltip player_id="354236" first="Cherterion" last="Rodgers"] Twitter

Mr. Rodgers is an athlete that can get it done on both sides of the ball. On offense, he can secure the halfback screen and use his foot quicks to get vertical quickly. He can also line up in the slot too further showcasing his threat in the air attack. On defense, he can line up as a corner where he can trigger downhill closing quickly to secure the open field tackle in the flat when there’s a receiver screen. This young man can also play as a two high safety where he flashes his ability to take good breaks on the ball. Here, he can undercut the ball for the 50/50 ball resulting in pass breakups. Overall, this young man has potential on both sides of the ball and is one that I’m interested to see how he produces this fall.

https://twitter.com/AAStaggFootball/status/1503738049469026310?s=20&t=M1H2tHmMykWKqFrAIlyIjg

Be sure to follow @PRZJordan regarding news & information for Illinois High School Football as well as @PrepRedzoneIL.

Want to be ranked?
