Those who will be starting for the first time will get a chance to see the difference in the speed of the game. Here are a few guys in this bunch to keep an eye on.
Caleb Cunningham, 6-3 185, Choctaw Co
Caleb was a major playmaker for the Chargers last season. When their QB was in trouble they could count on Caleb to bail them out. He has some speed to go along with great hands. His vertical is amazing. I don’t know the exact number, but during basketball season I witnessed him make some very powerful dunks. He holds two offers from University of Memphis and Miss State for football. He even holds an Scooba Tech offer in basketball. Caleb needs to continue to polish up those routes. He has all the other tools that you want your receiver to have. The more he works on being a better route runner the higher his stock will go. He is a guy to keep up with.
Jermarj Bell, 5-8 150, Northside
Jermarj is a smaller shifty guy who will add on stats a lot of different ways this season. He is very quick on his feet and has some great acceleration. He has great hands and will be able to spread the field a lot for Northside. Jemarj is not the guy you want to have too much space. He is going to hurt your defender if they aren’t ready to use great technique. Look for him to have a breakout season. The more he grows the more dangerous he will be. There isn’t much film out on him. He is just one of those guys whose name has been buzzing around the state since his younger days.
Amarion Brown, 6-0 180, Yazoo
Amarion is a tall lanky guy who can stretch the field for Yazoo City. A lot of speed is known to come from this area and he holds up to that. Kid has some good moves that he uses to get by defenders. He is quick and can make defenders miss. He knows how to go up and get the ball at its highest point. He is a deep ball threat who can also run good enough routes to keep the chains moving. Doesn’t have much film, but you can bet he is a guy to keep up with. They have a new QB on the squad this year. Going to be fun to see him making some plays with a gun slinger in the pocket.
