Trey Petty, 6-2 195, Starkville
Trey has been on fire since his sophomore season ended. He gets work in with Wyatt Davis all the time and has been improving everyday. Trey has a big arm and he has great ball placement. There is no hype to this kid. He can make all the throws you need your QB to make. He does a great job of keeping his feet moving when he is in the pocket and he can pick up some yards with his feet. Saturday he was showing why he has multiple offers as a junior. It’s going to be fun watching him play this season.
John White, 6-0 202, MRA
John has committed to Southern Miss as a junior. The guy has been doing so well this summer so I wouldn’t be surprised to see all the offers he continues to receive. John is a very calm QB that any coach would love to have on their team. He has great accuracy and he is a great leader. John isn’t a guy that is going to hold his head down after a mistake. He is a high motor guy that keeps his team going in tough situations. He can make tough throws and he can also put some touch on the ball. John White also likes to pick up some yards with his feet. He is a dual threat QB that you don’t want to leave with an open pocket for running. He can hurt you with his feet or arm.
Anthony Maddox, Jr, 6-2 175, Oak Grove
Anthony Maddox, Jr can sling the rock. He already has an offer from Alabama and can’t wait to show why during this season. He has a quick release and nice ball placement. He can throw the deep pass with great touch allowing receivers to run under the ball. He can zip it in tight spaces while on the run. He has a lot of speed and will be able to pick up some hard yards on the ground. This is going to be his first year as a full starter. I expect for him to have 2500 yards passing this season. He is going to ball out this year. Has some great talent surrounding him.
Eli Viniard, 6-1 175, JDC
Eli is as cool as they come and he showed that off Saturday. Kid is very calm and he approaches the game that way. He doesn’t get rattled a lot. He plays in a wing t offense, but he can throw the rock. He is a wing t QB that is going to hurt you at some point in the game. Nine times out of ten he is going to complete his passes. He has nice accuracy and has a great touch on his passes. This weekend he was showing that he has some nice ball placement. Eli is a QB to keep up with. He needs to make sure he can show off that arm every chance he gets. He also knows how to get some gritty yards on the ground.
