Genesis Smith Genesis Smith 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Hamilton | 2023 State AZ , Hamilton
Smith has been one of the fastest rising recruits in the state this offseason with 17 D1 offers coming in since the end of the 2021 season including P5 programs such as Washington, Arizona, Iowa State, and Oregon State. At 6’2” 190 lbs. he possesses a lot of ideal physical attributes for a Safety prospect with his combination of size, length, and range. He runs well with good lateral agility and reactionary quickness to play sideline to sideline while closing space on the ball. Effectively plays the run and pass making quick decisive reads with good eye discipline. His instincts and game awareness set him apart, he puts himself in great position to be a difference maker and is a natural playmaker. Recruiting stock is still on the rise and wouldn’t be surprised to see more P5 schools offer him as a senior.

Alex McLaughlin Alex McLaughlin 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Hamilton | 2023 State AZ , Hamilton
McLaughlin is another Hamilton defensive standout that has been climbing rankings and recruiting boards all offseason. Since the end of his junior season he’s collected 18 D1 offers including three PAC12 programs that all offered in the middle of June from Arizona, Washington State, and Colorado. At 6’2” 200 lbs. he’s plus athlete with great versatility and positional flexibility. He lines up all over the field as a hybrid OLB/Nickel that can press the line or drop back in coverage. He’s a high IQ player that is savvy with his movement but also very technically sound and efficient. Possesses a quick firing trigger and can be a three down LB demonstrating his ability to be an outside force guy in run support, an underneath zone cover guy against the pass, or a read/rush defender off the edge. Recently narrowed down his recruitment to seven schools including Arizona, Colorado, Washington State, Ohio, Montana State, Air Force, and NAU.

Levi Robins Levi Robins 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Saguaro | 2023 State AZ , Saguaro
Robin’s recruitment is building with offers from Columbia, Yale, and a PWO to Michigan this spring/summer. There’s a lot to like about his skillset with his combination of athleticism, quickness, and speed. He’s very fluid with his movement as he flips his hips and transitions out of his backpedal. Possesses a strong/sustained second gear and the short area burst to quickly come out of his break and change directions in coverage. Plus ball skills to effectively track/adjust to ball flight with the timing and hand eye coordination to time out his jump and make a play at the catch point. Excellent footwork and technique, he’s calculated with his movement and limits wasted motion and false steps. He’s an all out competitor that’s proven he can battle with the state’s top wide receivers.

Shahid Wilson Shahid Wilson 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Millennium | 2023 State AZ , Millennium
Wilson is an excellent athlete with the versatility to be effective from multiple positions in the secondary. He’s got a good strong build at 6’0” 185 lbs. with plus top end speed and lateral agility to match receiver movement and cover all three levels of the field effectively. He’s a natural DB that flashes great instincts and route anticipation in coverage. He’s physical with active hands to gain positional leverage in both press and off coverage. Great ball skills and body control to play the ball in the air and come down with difficult contested interceptions. He’s a violent tackler that drives through contact and finishes opponents to the ground aggressively. Currently holds three offers from Montana State, North Dakota, and Adams State but has the talent/ability to collect more and be a quality D1 prospect.

Josiah Dye Josiah Dye 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Williams Field | 2023 State AZ , Williams Field
Dye checks a lot of boxes as a college level DB prospect. At 6’1” 185 lbs. he’s physical with length and all-around speed. He’s smooth in his backpedal but is quick to gain depth to establish positional leverage. Shows good acceleration and leg drive out of his transition, he does a great job running the route with the receiver and getting in phase on verticals. Plays with good eyes and flashes plus catch-up/recovery speed to close space and play the ball in the air. Strong in press man coverage and has the ability to isolate and win matchups with opposing teams top receivers. Has added offers from NAU, Army, and Air Force since his first offer from Utah State in February and still has good upside and potential to develop.
