Continue ReadingIn the past several weeks, college coaches have flocked to the state of Georgia and have sent out offers in the masses for Georgia prospects. From the upcoming 2023 seniors to the rising 2026 freshmen, there are a handful of prospects that have seen their stock rise exponentially in recent weeks.
Here, we take a look at one prospect from each class that is hot on the recruiting trail.
2023
Jatavius Shivers – OT – Villa Rica
Shivers had established himself as one of the most highly sought-after linemen in the state a few months ago. Offers rolled in from schools like Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and others. Ultimately, Shivers opted to commit to Vanderbilt until he opened up his recruitment last month. Now that his recruitment is open, the chase is on. Michigan and USF have offered recently, and schools like Auburn remain involved. At 6’7 290, Shivers already has great size and has room to get even bigger. He is light on his feet, powerful, and plays with good pad level. All in all, he is a prototype OT with the potential to get even better. Shivers is a name that should continue to rise up boards over the next few months. [UPDATE: Shivers has committed to South Carolina].
2024
Nasir Smith – DT – Grayson
Grayson, as we know, constantly feeds players into the SEC and eventually the NFL. Nasir Smith looks like he could join that list. Sitting at around 6’4 295, Smith is already built like an SEC defensive lineman, and he still has 2 more years to grow. In the month of June alone, Smith saw offers roll in from Georgia, Auburn, and Kentucky. In total, he has eclipsed over 20 offers. Smith is powerful, explosive, and has a high motor. He has already solidified himself as one of the best DL prospects in the 2024 class, and once he produces on the field this fall, he should get more and more exposure on the trail.
2025
Ethan Barbour – TE – Alpharetta
Barbour is one of the many young prospects at Alpharetta that has a bright future. As a freshman, Barbour flashed signs of greatness as he finished with 342 receiving yards and a couple of TDs. At around 6’3 220, he has unbelievable explosiveness, ball skills, and is a great route runner. To put it simply, he is a matchup nightmare for defenses. In my opinion, he looks like a prospect that could develop into a 5-star caliber player, and I think he has already cemented himself as one of the best 2025 TEs in the nation. Since picking up an offer from Georgia last month, the buzz around Barbour has never been higher. Since that UGA offer, he has also added offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, and Florida. Expect Barbour to continue to rise on the trail.
2026
Tyler Atkinson – EDGE – Grayson
Atkinson has been a household name in the 2026 class for a while now, and his stock just continues to rise. Atkinson had already held offers from schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Auburn, Tennessee, and numerous others. Still, his stock continues to rise. Atkinson has dominated the camp scene this offseason, wowing people with his athleticism and explosiveness, and will get even better with time. He has earned recent offers from Rutgers, Florida State, and Pitt which puts him well over 20 offers. Watching Atkinson continue to develop will be fun as he looks to be one of the best 2026 prospects in the entire country.
