Vero Beach Steals The Show At UCF
Orlando – The 7-on-7 season got under way on Wednesday at UCF in a huge way.
With three events scheduled for this week, the Knights had some impressive teams on hand – as well as some quality linemen, who had the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches.
When the dust had settled, head coach Lenny Jankowski and his Vero Beach Indians came away as champions on the first day, beating Orlando Dr. Phillips in the finals.
Vero Beach advanced to the finals with a thrilling win over Cocoa – while Dr. Phillips beat Miami Dade Christian on the final play of the semifinals.
In addition to Vero Beach, Dr. Phillips, Dade Christian and Cocoa, there were some other programs that did their thing on Wednesday.
Among the schools on hand were North Miami, Winter Garden Horizon, Fort Meade, Sanford Seminole, Ponta Vedra, Winter Park Lake Howell, Ambassador’s Christian, Seffner Armwood, Boca Raton Spanish River, Lantana Santaluces, Cape Coral Island Coast and Clearwater American Collegiate Academy to name a few.
Also, Orange Park University, Halifax Academy and Melbourne as well.
Twenty four more schools will be there on Thursday and 23 more on Saturday.
