Here are some of the top under the radar receivers in Middle Georgia…
Another speedster, Anderson is coming off an excellent season for Perry last year and showed a knack for getting behind the defense. He’s a downfield threat due to his deceptive speed, but he’s a reliable weapon in the screen and slant game as well. If he has room to run, he’s going to pick up big yards. He was consistent, productive, and showed off D1 playmaking ability last year as a sophomore. He’s a smooth runner, but he’s also a slipper ball-carrier. He slips through tackles with ease and shows great balance. He does a good job of staying on his feet after contact to pick up more yards after the catch. He’s a big-play waiting to happen, and he could be bound for a breakout junior season in 2022. Last season, Anderson caught 51 passes for 801 yards and 8 touchdowns as a sophomore, showing he’s a big-play threat and one of the very best in Middle Georgia.
Shatavious Hogan – Baldwin
One of the more underrated receivers in thee 2023 class, Hogan showed big-time athleticism and a nose for the endzone last season for Baldwin. The Milledgeville native is a natural runner with great hands and the ability to pick up yards after the catch. He’s quick off the line, gets open consistently, and knows how to make a tough reception. He’s a fun player to watch, and he was consistently one of the top athletes on the field in every game. Hogan has D1 size at 6-foot-3 205-pounds, and he appears to be a very fluid and natural runner for his size. He’s still an unknown prospect, but one team could be getting a steal if they give him an opportunity down the road. As a junior last fall, Hogan caught 47 passes for 674 yards and five touchdowns. He’s one of the top playmakers in the area and he’s without a doubt one of the top sleeper 2023 receivers across Georgia.
Terrel Ashley – Crawford County
A dynamic two-way athlete who can make plays on both sides of the ball, Ashley is an under the radar athlete in Middle Georgia with ball skills and elusiveness. He’s a promising safety prospect, but he also made a name for himself in the area at wide receiver. He shows consistent hands as a pass catcher and knows how to zig-zag his way down the field for a big gain. The 6-foot-0 165-pounder can make defenders miss when he has the ball and he’s always a reliable option for the quarterback. He’s a solid option in the screen game and shows good burst when getting upfield. As a receiver last year, Ashley caught 39 passes for 671 yards and two touchdowns. Look for him to get more opportunities to make plays on offense this fall as a senior. He’ll be one of the top receivers and defensive backs to know about south of Macon.
Jadarius Robinson – Greenville
A versatile, explosive playmaker from the small town of Greenville, Robinson was clearly one of the top athletes on the field at all times last year. A playmaker whenever he has the ball, Robinson is a game-changer as a returner due to his agility, burst, and above-average athleticism. He doesn’t play against great competition, so Robinson makes it look easy at times. He knows how to break tackles and he does a good job of picking up yards after the catch. He’s quick for his size, shows good balance, and he’s a sure pass-catcher with strong hands. He’s an easy go-to option for Greenville and he’s clearly one of the best overall prospects in the region. He’s someone who could make plays no matter where he plays, and his junior film proves that he possesses D1 talent. As a junior last fall, Robinson caught 38 passes for 686 yards and 8 touchdowns in 10 games.
