Jeremiah Berry Jeremiah Berry 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Pike | 2023 State IN – Pike – RB – 6’0″ 195lbs – 2023
Berry was good. He really was. He was consistent, hungry, and fighting to take more reps when others were sliding to the back. His listed weight from last year is that 6’0″ 195lbs and if he’s still that, he’s every ounce of it. He’s well built and looks good. He’s got massive quads, a strong frame, and isn’t afraid of contact. He’s got quick feet, sees the field well, and has the athleticism to match the frame. During the camp, all RBs lined up out wide. Berry put some LBs on notice and went over the top for a long score. I almost needed to tell him to take a break so others would get reps. While he didnt’ make every play, he wanted to challenge everyone. He’s got the right mindset when he steps on the field and is fun to be around. He’s raw, but the talent is there. Not only did he make plays on the field but during the mental toughness test he was the leader in his group of reps done. There were defienetly some guys who ran out of gas towards the end of the mental testing and Berry didn’t waver. He was steady throughout and we had a good conversation afterwards. I really like Berry because he can develop into a 3-down back at the next level. Not only that, but he’ll likely have the frame needed to go with it. Berry is absolutely going to cement himself as one of the top backs in the state this fall once he gets the chance.
Destin Beauchamp Destin Beauchamp 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Ben Davis | 2023 State IN – Ben Davis – RB – 5’8″ 190lbs – 2023
Beauchamp is like lightning in a bottle. I knew from his tape he was shifty and had fantastic hands, but in person it’s even more obvious. He’s got elite short area agility and made a few guys miss even when they were right on him. He comes back to the ball when he needs to and fights through contact. He’s shift in his routes as well as after making the catch. He went over the middle, down the seem, and out wide. He was willing to try going over the top to make the play. He made one play where he was being held and caught it on the way down. His feet are fast and usually stay in his frame. He’s got an elite change of direction and is aggressive in the box. Beauchamp is the type of RB you scheme up screens and trust in pass protection once he gets there. He’ll stick his nose into the dirty stuff and is great out of the backfield. If you get him the ball in space, he’s going to make the defense pay. Even if he doesn’t have space, he’s able to create it. He’s not the biggest back but his size doesn’t impact his play. He’s able to see the field, react well, and he’s still getting bigger. I did a full evaluation on him recently and while everything is still accurate, he’s a bit heavier and things are more crisp. I really think Beauchamp is coming along nicely and has a chance to really explode onto the field this fall.
Colbey Reed – Belleville (MI) – RB – 5’10″ 195lbs – 2024
Reed came down from Michigan and didn’t waste anyone’s time and made the most of his opportunities. He stood out immediately. He’s such a fluid and fast athlete. His feet move as fast as his eyes. During drills, there were a few times he looked much more polished than this past season. When we went out to the 1 on 1’s, everything translated. He’s quick, has great sudden movements, and can create separation like a WR with some routes. He’s raw, but the potential is there to become a weapon you can flex out. There were quite a few drops on Friday night and none of them came from Reed that I saw. On the field, he was a fast learner and didn’t need to be told the same thing twice. Reed is an electric athlete that can make plays now, and once he gets a full grasp at the collegiate level, could become an electric figure for his offense. His raw athleticism is the most noticeable thing and as he develops, it’ll keep him on the field making plays. Reed isn’t an Indiana recruit but earned his medal and a spot on this piece. He’s fantastic and Belleville is in good hands offensively.
Peyton Chinn Peyton Chinn 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Seeger Memorial Junior-Senior | 2023 IN – Seeger – RB – 5’10″ – 190lbs – 2023
Chinn took the evening by storm and made a ton of plays. He was efficient and dynamic. He had quick feet, didn’t miss a beat, and wasn’t ever out of control. He was a steady operator throughout the night. Never too high and never too low. That camp got competitive and the 1 on 1’s were a ton of fun because of the raw competition that was going on. Chinn would make a play and calmly run the ball back while the background did it’s thing. He’s good out of the backfield and can shake up a LB when running a route. He doesn’t have much wasted movement either. When he runs, he runs. When he cuts, he cuts. Simple enough but he seemingly always made the right decision. The Indy drills were where some guys began to put the pack on notice that they’ve been preparing and Chinn was one of those few. Looking at his tape, he’s that same player. Hard to bring down, makes the most of every opportunity, and stays as calm and collected as can be. Chinn is a dynamic back who left with the 4th offensive MVP medal because he worked his tail off, made a ton of plays, and came prepared. There’s a lot to be excited about with what he can bring and offer to a program down the road.
