If you are looking for athletes that have the athleticism, size, and strength to help in many different facets of the game then you need to get north of HWY10 and check out these dudes! The Class of 2023 is loaded at the ATH position with D3 up to FBS talent. There is something for every level in this group, and on top of it there are many juniors and sophomores that coaches need to make sure are on their recruiting boards. Let’s get into these dudes! 1. [player_tooltip player_id="104410" first="Evan" last="Van Dyn Hoven"], ’23- Menasha This dude is going to be a big time riser during our next rankings update. Evan is a big time producer on the offensive and defensive side of the football at WR and LB. Coming in at 6’3" 210 lbs, Evan has the long, lean frame with the potential to fill out into a stud edge rusher at the next level. Despite missing 7 games due to injury, Evan was able to earn himself a PWO offer form the Badgers. His film is so fun to watch. He flies off the edge with crazy burst and acceleration, and then closes quickly in the backfield. Evan is another stud in this ATH category who has the size for a position like LB, but also has the athleticism to thrive at WR at the HS level. Evan is going to take off even more when he sees a full season this fall. This is the name to know in northern WI when it comes to ATHs. 2. [player_tooltip player_id="267049" first="Tevyn" last="Montgomery"], ’24- Bay Port Next up, we go to the Class of 2024 for as real of an ATH as you can get. Tevyn is a dominant FB and LB for Bay Port HS where he finished his sophomore season as a 2nd Team All Conference RB and LB. The 5’11" 225 lbs athlete put together a very productive season averaging over 6 tackles a game and a TFL per game on defense. On offense, Tevyn averaged a hair shy of 2 TDs per game over his 11 game season. The muscle bound ball carrier is tough to tackle. He absorbs body shots with impressive contact balance and easily runs through arm tackles. He also has enough speed to pull away in the open field. ON defense, Tevyn consistently sniffs out plays early in their development and puts himself in position to shut it down quickly. He closes quickly, and is a sound, reliable tackler. I can’t wait to see how Tevyn has developed further this offseason. Big year coming for him and the talented Bay Port team. 3. [player_tooltip player_id="300044" first="Cade" last="Stingle"], ’23- Shiocton This is a member of the upcoming senior class that college coaches should want to just get on the field in any way possible. He can do so much, but RB/safety/LB are the top options. He has great size at 6’3" 185 lbs, elite speed at 4.46 40 time, and a 38" vertical to show off the explosiveness. The next level definitely is interested in his abilities as he has earned offers from Mankato, Northern State and Southwest Minnesota State University. Cade also holds multiple school records in hurdles events. Look for a big year from Cade on both sides of the ball once again. 4. [player_tooltip player_id="304447" first="Carter" last="Kriewaldt"], ’23- Freedom The 2023 ATH group is stacked in northern WI. Next up is the 6’1" 185 lbs safety/RB out of Freedom. It is interesting watching his highlights. At RB Carter seems to let his natural athleticism take over. He bursts through running lanes, has pull away speed, and has the power to not be slowed by arm tackles. On defense is where you see more of Carter’s game outside of the athleticism. You can see his ability to read the QB and the routes developing in front of him. That quick processing allows him to position himself in ways to make play after play on the ball. The safety position is where I believe he plays at the next level. Carter currently holds offers from St.Thomas, Duluth, Augustana, and Upper Iowa. 5. [player_tooltip player_id="304408" first="AJ" last="Korth"], ’23- Menasha This is a fun one! AJ is an Honorable Mention All State QB, but I believe he will be looked at at other positions where his standout athletic gifts could be more utilized. That works well for AJ and his experience because he also plays safety. At safety, AJ is a three level player. He has made plays off the edge/in the box where he uses his athleticism to get after the QB and pick through the trash of the front seven to make stops. He can also line up deep, and read what the field. I think his QB experience helps in that area of his defensive play. At QB, AJ does a great job of moving in the pocket to buy time, can hurt teams with his legs. He also can deliver the ball to every level of the field with accuracy. So, he could have a future at QB, I just believe he can play at a higher level on the defensive side of the ball, right now. Honorable Mention: [player_tooltip player_id="104435" first="Cade" last="Myszewski"], ’23- River Falls: 6’1" 225 lbs, FB/Edge, 2nd Team All Conference FB/TE, 4.7 40 Time, Track & Field [player_tooltip player_id="304430" first="Kaden" last="Vardon"], ’23- Algoma: 6’1" 175 lbs, WR/DB, 1st Team All Conference & All Region, Offer from UW- River Falls, Plays 8 Man Football [player_tooltip player_id="120436" first="Ethan" last="Turbeville"], ’23- New Richmond: 5’9" 200 lbs, 4.4 40 Time, 10.78 sec. 100M Dash (#1 in WI) [player_tooltip player_id="31430" first="Colin" last="Boyarski"], ’23- Altoona: 5’10" 185 lbs, RB/LB, 1st Team All Conference RB/LB, All Region RB, Offers from UW- Eau Claire, UW- River Falls [player_tooltip player_id="273592" first="Adam" last="Newel"] ,’23- Ashwaubenon: 6’2" 285 lbs, DL/OL, All Conference, Offers from Ripon, Southwest Minnesota State University, and Duluth [player_tooltip player_id="270694" first="Owen" last="Wedin"], ’24- Freedom: 6’2" 190 lbs, TE/DL/LB, Football/Basketball, 3.8 GPA [player_tooltip player_id="223676" first="George" last="Schroeder"], ’24- New Richmond: 6’2" 190 lbs, 3 Sport Athlete, TE/DE [player_tooltip player_id="262065" first="Grant" last="Dean"], ’25- Neenah: 6’ 165 lbs, #2 ATH in Class of ’25, RB/S/Returner, Played JV and Varsity in ’21 [player_tooltip player_id="262091" first="Dylan" last="Mattson"], ’25- Thorp: 5’8" 150 lbs, 4.8 40 Time, WR/CB
