Today, we are going to take a look at the recruiting news from last week. As we get closer to the season recruiting is starting to blow up.
Camps have began and many prospects are making their best impression to earn offers. That being said, scroll down below and check out the latest recruiting stories.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>OL (23’), Nick Oliveira, Clearview</strong></span>
<em>6’5 285</em>
Mr. Oliveria is the biggest recruit in Clearview history. He has verbally committed to continue his career at The University of Cincinnati. He was also heavily considering Boston College, Oregon, Penn State and Vanderbilt. Oliveira does many things well. He has an aggressive hand strike, covers a lot of ground and has smooth feet to keep his body in front of fast edge rushers. Oliveria will a have big senior season before heading off to Cincinnati and he will be a great addition to their program.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>OL (23’) John Stone, Washington Township</strong></span>
<em>6’3 270</em>
Mr. Stone is a three- star prospect that has committed to Rutgers University. He is ranked #7 in the state as well. Stone does a good job playing with an aggressive attitude which is something coaches can not teach. Also, he offers some versatility and can play numerous positions on the line. Stone will be used many different ways at the next level. For his senior season he will prove that Rutgers did not make a mistake offering him a scholarship.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>DE (23’) James Heard Jr. , Camden</strong></span>
<em>6’2 225</em>
Mr. Heard is a three- star prospect that has announced his commitment to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He has received over 15 offers during his recruiting process as well. Heard started defensive end as a freshman so that should tell you the type of talent he is. He is very athletic and can play from a two or three point stance. Heard is very fast off the edge and finishes his tackles with authority. He has adequate strength to shed blockers and plays with good instincts. Heard will play his senior season at Camden High School after playing for St. Joseph Prep (Philadelphia) last season.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>RB/CB (23’) Ja’Briel Mace, Mainland</strong></span>
<em>5’10 170</em>
Mr. Mace has received offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple and West Virginia. He is a good athlete that was a starter on both sides of the well. Offensively, he had a productive year rushing for 166 yards on 19 carries and scoring 3 TD’s. His best game was against Vineland, rushing for 148 yards on 10 carries and 2 scores. Defensively, he did a good job limiting touchdowns and big plays. He had one interception that was returned for a touchdown. Mace will see more production this season and will bring in more offers.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>WR, (23’) [player_tooltip player_id="146667" first="Ejani" last="Shakir"], Winslow</strong></span>
<em>6’0 175</em>
Mr. Shakir is an impressive athlete that has verbally committed to play at Penn State. Over the course of his career he has accumulated over 12 offers from schools across the country. Shakir has good speed and showed flashes of playmaking ability. He is a smooth route runner and is dangerous after the catch. Shakir can line up out wide or in the slot as well. He has good hands as was used a return specialist. You should expect Winslow to get Shakir the ball anyway they can this season. He is poised to have a breakout senior season.
