PRZ Young Bucks: 25′ Rankings Stock Risers Pt. 3

Our young bucks have kickstarted their high school careers across various levels. As they look to take their sophomore season snaps underway in the coming months, we've seen a number of stock risers across all positions. Without further ado, let's dive into Part 3 of our Stock Risers.

2025 Official Rankings Update

[player_tooltip player_id="201957" first="Marcus" last="Thaxton"] Twitter Mr. Thaxton is a dual threat quarterback that has potential with his arm ability. He showcases being able to add touch on level 2 throws across the middle of the field and being able to work on the move out of platform. Let's not forget about his foot quicks when he runs the option as he can get to the sideline quickly and break long runs in the process. The overall potential that this young man has is one to keep an eye on heading into his sophomore season. [player_tooltip player_id="252528" first="Brandon" last="Parades"] Twitter When Mr. Parades is flushed out of the pocket and forced to work on the move he can keep his eyes downfield to get the ball off under pressure giving his receiver a chance to come down with the 50/50 ball. This young man also isn't afraid to make throws into tight windows as he showcases his potential here of threading the needle. What I'm interested to see develop further is his ability to hit the soft spots along the sideline and across the middle of the field when the opposing defense is in zone coverage. He also can get it done with his legs as well if need be. All in all, he has room to hone his craft further but the potential that he has is one to keep an eye on. [player_tooltip player_id="252476" first="Gaetano" last="Carbonara"] Twitter Mr. Carbonara showcases glimpses of being able to hit outside the number throws not only from midfield but also from the opposite hash mark. Not to mention, when he runs play action he has the ability to make the defenders bite down leaving the middle of the field open where he can deliver a level 2 throw into his receiver's basket for a touchdown - this is seen on more than one occasion in his highlights. Yes, he only played 3 games last season but when you turn on the film you see glimpses of the type of player that this young man can mold into with his untapped potential. As he continues to get more snaps under his belt we'll see how much of his potential will come to light over the next few seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="205735" first="Charlie" last="Cruse"] Twitter Mr. Cruse is a young man that's been on my radar for some time now and one that I got a chance to see in person during our recent PRZ IL Showcase. If you haven't seen this young man's film, you're doing yourself a disservice. He runs crisp routes breaking the defender off at the top of the route and can close the cushion quickly on the defender playing in off coverage to win over the top. Want to throw him a 50/50 ball? No problem, this young man doesn't have an issue playing above the rim to secure the contested catch. The best is yet to come from this young man, one of many up and coming young men from Downers Grove North. [player_tooltip player_id="278886" first="Quinn" last="Morris"] Twitter Mr. Morris's ability to work through traffic is one to keep an eye on, instead of giving up on his routes he continues working until he gains a step on the defender to break them off at the top of the route. Once he does, he has the ability to play above the rim securing the contested catch - even in double coverage by fully extending giving us an insight into his catch radius. This young man also provides glimpses of his ability to adjust to back shoulder throws and track the ball on deep shots downfield. All in all, a talented slot receiver that is only going to continue to improve and hone his craft. [player_tooltip player_id="163858" first="Joseph" last="Reiff"] Twitter Mr. Reiff is a young man that I got a chance to see in person during our recent PRZ IL Showcase where he worked as a defensive end. Here, he provided insight into his quick first step to gain the advantage on the offensive tackle beating them to the turn point. He can then either take the edge or counter back inside to win through the B gap after the offensive tackle over steps getting too wide. I'm very interested to see how he produces during this upcoming season on both sides of the ball, also has potential as an offensive tackle.
Be sure to follow @PRZJordan regarding news & information for Illinois High School Football as well as @PrepRedzoneIL. Want to be ranked?
