Program Deep-Dive Class 7A: Springdale has got some Dogs!

We are right in the middle of spring football and programs are getting an early idea of what it is their team may look like come the fall. Players are getting an idea of what is working for them as far as their training and diets are concerned. At the same time, new and veteran coaches are figuring out what may or may not be working for them. Whether it is the drills they do, or the scrimmage games played coaches and players are fine tuning their games on the regular. In this series I will be covering as many schools as I can, from as many different classes as I can. ln this article we will take a look at the Springdale Bulldogs. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="139606" first="Giovanni" last="Almaraz"] #77</strong> <strong>LT/RT</strong> <strong>c/o 2023</strong> Almaraz is a raw product, of which displays as much power as he does potential. Giovanni has a high motor and plays to the whistle every play. Often his blocks end up with the opposing player on the ground, or Giovanni blocking the opponent into another player. He is an important piece to the Bulldog offensive line. At a mere 6’3" 320lbs, Almaraz has the potential to be a real mauling machine in the 2022 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="256614" first="Mason" last="Spencer"] #22</strong> <strong>WR/SS</strong> <strong>c/o 2024</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="256614" first="Mason" last="Spencer"] is looking to make up for lost time. After missing the 2021 season with an ankle injury, Spencer is determined to show out in the 2022 season. When watching Mason’s film from his freshman season I saw a player that showed great agility, good hands, as well as great speed. Spencer is 5’10" 150lbs and can play either the wide receiver or safety position. He shows great awareness when the ball is in the air and can make just about any catch. This Bulldog team is excited for this young man to get back out on the field in the 2022 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="140726" first="Ta’Jon" last="Sparks"] #9</strong> <strong>CB</strong> <strong>c/o 2023</strong> When watching Sparks’ film, I saw player who cover a lot of ground. Ta’Jon is very fast, deceptively fast actually. During his film I saw this young man block not one, but two field goals from this past season. Sparks runs with power; I do not know how else to explain it. At 5’10" 160lbs, and running a 4.6 40-yard dash, Sparks plays the entirety of the football field. He is a pass break-up machine, and a lot of fun to watch play. Ta’Jon and this Bulldog defense look to turn some heads in the 2022 season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="260419" first="Kaden" last="Spencer"] #93</strong> <strong>DE</strong> <strong>c/o 2024</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="260419" first="Kaden" last="Spencer"] is looking to build off of his success that he had on the football field in 2021. A season where Spencer had 40 tackles, 3 sacks, and 7.5 tackles for a loss. Kayden is an absolute menace of the defensive line. He is very dangerous and disruptive, as well as displaying a sort of brute strength. Spencer stands at 6’3" 250lbs and is very fast coming off of the line. Spencer enjoys pressuring opposing quarterbacks and finds himself just as good when defending the run. Kayden looks to be a valuable piece to this Bulldog defense in the 2022 season.
