Continue ReadingWe are right in the middle of spring football and programs are getting an early idea of what it is their team may look like come the fall. Players are getting an idea of what is working for them as far as their training and diets are concerned. At the same time, new and veteran coaches are figuring out what may or may not be working for them. Whether it is the drills they do, or the scrimmage games played coaches and players are fine tuning their games on the regular. In this series I will be covering as many schools as I can, from as many different classes as I can. ln this article we will take a look at the Bentonville West Wolverines.
Thomas Willbanks #4
DB/WR
c/o 2023
Willbanks makes sure that opposing quarterbacks know not to throw his way. If they (opposing quarterbacks) didn’t know before the game, it won’t take long for them to find out. At 5’10″ 170lbs, along with a 31″ vertical Thomas stays with the ball and makes whoever has it pay when he gets to them. One could say with confidence that Willbanks is a ballhawk. His film shows a player that is all over the field, willing to do anything to make a play. Thomas and the Wolverine defense look to make Bentonville West a “no fly” zone in 2022.
Carson Morgan Carson Morgan 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB Bentonville West | 2023 State AR #1
RB/WR
c/o 2023
Carson Morgan Carson Morgan 6'1" | 180 lbs | RB Bentonville West | 2023 State AR is looking to build off of what was a very successful season in 2021. A season where Morgan racked up over 1,000 yards rushing, over 700 yards receiving, and landing 21 touchdowns in the process. When Carson runs, he displays a healthy balance between power and finesse. Morgan hits his gaps fast, he is explosive out of the gate, and shows great awareness on the field. At 6’0 200lbs Carson runs a 4.5 40-yard dash as well as a 33″ vertical, making him a legitimate threat in the passing game. Morgan is an all-around baller.
Lane Jeffcoat Lane Jeffcoat 6'9" | 310 lbs | OL Bentonville West | 2024 State AR #77
OL
c/o 2024
Lane is a mean, mauling machine. Standing at a measly 6’9 300lbs, Lane has raw potential as an offensive lineman. He is very quick off the ball for a young man his size. Where Jeffcoat could use help with his footwork, he makes up with his raw power. Lane has long arms, which serve him very well when blocking the run or pass. Jeffcoat has all of the abilities that you would look for in an offensive lineman, and as those abilities become fine-tuned Lane will no doubt take his game to the next level.
Jake Casey Jake Casey 6'4" | 180 lbs | QB Bentonville West | 2024 State AR #15
Quarterback
c/o 2024
Jake Casey Jake Casey 6'4" | 180 lbs | QB Bentonville West | 2024 State AR and this Wolverine offense have the potential to have a “break out” year in 2022. Casey displays an accuracy that is few and far between, putting the ball just where he needs to for his receivers. At 6’4″ 180lbs Casey is not scared to put his big arm on display. He hangs in the pocket and makes great reads, as well as uses his legs to keep plays alive. Jake has looked great so far in spring ball and looks to take his game, and this Wolverine offense to the next this season.
