Continue ReadingOver the next few days, college camp news will start to come out you fast. The state of Arkansas has numerous prospects attending the camps at Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. We will also lay out some camps coming up this coming weekend to keep an eye out for over the next few days. Plenty of talented prospects to keep an eye on that are setting the stage for a big 2022 football season.
Bryce Perkins Bryce Perkins 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Van Buren | 2024 State AR -Quarterback-Van Buren-2024
Perkins looked in mid-season form during the spring football period and he has kept that momentum rolling into summer camps. At the Oklahoma camp earlier in the week, Perkins was connecting with his wide receivers in stride. He displayed good accuracy and displayed a penchant for throwing the deep ball. He continues to improve in all phases of the game and has the potential for an impressive 2022 season. Perkins is going to be a 2023 prospect to keep an eye on and will be a quarterback that will play on Saturdays in the future.
Noah Britton Noah Britton 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Bauxite | 2024 State AR -Running Back-Bauxite-2024
Britton is a running back that has the mix of power and speed that college coaches are looking for at the running back spot. Britton was extremely impressive at the Ouachita Baptist camp over the weekend. However, he kept the momentum going in South Bend this week. Britton can be split out wide or catch the ball out of the backfield. The Bauxite running back has a high ceiling and plenty of potential to play on Saturdays in the future.
Marquez Brentley JR.-Wide Receiver-Watson Chapel-2024
In Pine Bluff, Brentley put on display his smooth route running ability. He does an impressive job of getting into his routes and catching the football. Brentley is a wide receiver that can catch the deep ball with very little effort. The Watson Chapel wide receiver has a second gear that he can hit when he gets into the open field. The potential is there for a big season from Watson Chapel and Marquez Brentley.
Carter McElhany Carter McElhany 5'7" | 155 lbs | WR Greenbrier | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Greenbrier-2023
We are going to throw in a little bonus coverage from the Memphis football camp taking place this week. McElhany is wide receiver that has excellent speed. He proved that he has the type of game breaking speed that college coaches are looking for in Memphis. McElhany ran a 4.35 40-yard dash time. The Greenbrier wide receiver is a threat to score from anywhere on the field and he is a prospect I expect to earn more scholarship offers over the new few weeks.
Kierran Jones-Linebacker-Little Rock Central-2023
Kierran Jones is a linebacker that has opened some eyes over the past few weeks. At the Arkansas-Pine Bluff camp this week, Jones displayed good quickness and ability to drop back into pass coverage. Jones has the hands needed to pick off a pass and take it the other direction. He is a prospect that has the potential to light up Friday nights this fall. Jones has started off the summer camp sessions in strong fashion and I look forward to seeing what he can do this season.
Donnie Cheers Donnie Cheers 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Marion | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Marion-2023
The Marion wide receiver has built incredible momentum going into the 2022 football season. Cheers put on display his hands in Memphis. Cheers has shown an ability to catch the football that is extremely impressive. To go along with an impressive showing at the Memphis football camp, Cheers earned a scholarship offer from Tennessee-Martin. The potential with Cheers is high and this young man has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future. Keep an eye out for Cheers this season.
Cody Taylor-Offensive Line-Greenwood-2026
The Greenwood Bulldogs continue to produce division one talent at an impressive rate. Cody Taylor put on a great showing at the team camp the Bulldogs held earlier this week. Taylor has the potential to be an offensive lineman that will play on Saturdays in the future. Taylor is going to be at the Central Arkansas camp this weekend, the Texas camp on June 10th, and on June 18th he will be participating in the University of Arkansas camp. Look out for this young man over the next few seasons.
