The last two days have seen breakdowns of some of the top running backs in Northwest Indiana here on Prep Redzone Indiana. Today, we go again spotlighting some of the top ball-carriers from that area.
Lance Moser, 5’11, 2024, Bremen
Lance Moser will be heading into his junior year attempting to build off of a breakout 2021 season. A season ago, Moser eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards. Moser scored a baker’s dozen of touchdowns. On three occasions, Moser ran for a hundred or more yards. Lance Moser can put defenses under pressure. Scouts need to watch out for what Moser does in the second half of his high school career.
Austin McKenzie, 6’1, 195 pounds, 2023, Bremen

Austin McKenzie is a physical back who can pace the offense. McKenzie can break tackles and also drag defenders with him. He is the type of runner that can leave a physical toll on the opposing defense. McKenzie is a solid pass-catcher. He can be effective out of the backfield and be a difficult matchup for linebackers. He can line up in the fullback role and be very serviceable in that capacity. Last year, McKenzie racked up 485 yards on the ground coupled with a quartet of rushing touchdowns.
Robert Nabieu, 5’9, 150 pounds, 2024, South Bend Riley

Robert Nabieu has shown plenty of promise throughout his first two seasons of high school football. Last year, Nabieu carried 41 times. On those 41 carries he found ways to make an impact and keep the offense on schedule. Nabieu ran for 211 yards and an average of better than five yards per carry. Nabieu is also a solid contributor on the defensive side of the ball. During his sophomore campaign, Nabieu posted 38 tackles. He added two-and-a-half tackles-for-loss as well as a pair of passes defensed.
Titus Hackworth, 5’8, 190 pounds, 2023, Elkhart

Titus Hackworth displays a level of quickness in the open field that allows for him to leave defenders in the dust. Hackworth is outstanding any time he can get the ball to the outside. He does well off-tackle. Once he gets to the edge, Hackworth can find an opening and accelerate. Hackworth can also be effective on screen passes. He does a great job of securing the catch, reading his blocks and getting up field. Hackworth has a great feel for the game, and he sees the field well. Hackworth toted the rock 166 times in 2021 for 862 yards. He recorded a decade of touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id="39068" first="Trey" last="Gibson"] is a playmaker who can elevate the offense. Gibson has the ability to bounce outside and create a chunk play. He can evade defenders in the open field. Gibson is a solid pass-catcher. He has reliable hands and is a difficult matchup for defenders. Gibson can be an effective wildcat quarterback. When he gets the ball in that role, defenders will have to take an extra moment to see whether he is handing the ball off or keeping it. In 2021, he recorded 223 carries for an astonishing 1,655 rushing yards and an equally impressive 33 touchdowns. Gibson earned 100 or more rushing yards in eight games. As a receiver, he piled up 374 yards on 26 receptions with three touchdown catches. Gibson can make a difference as a kickoff returner, as well. Last year, he returned 15 kickoffs for a total of 308 yards.
