New Coach, Winning Tradition At Dunnellon

<strong>DUNNELLON FOOTBALL</strong><strong> 2022. </strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Tommy Sutton <strong>2021 Record:</strong> 8-3 <strong>THE TIGERS</strong> With <strong>Price Harris</strong> heading to Madison County, a new regime moves in at a program that has been impressive for much of the decade. In an area loaded with talent, Coach <strong>Tommy Sutton</strong> takes over a Dunnellon program that is certainly a force, proving it a year ago with eight wins. Looking back at 2021, things got off to a rocky start with losses to 7A power Gaines Buchholz and an always competitive Ocala Vanguard squad. But after the two setbacks, this team went on a roll – winning eight straight, which included victories against Crystal River (34-0), Ocala Forest (20-0), 1A state champion Madison County (28-26), Citra North Marion (12-9), Ocala Lake Weir (47-0), Leesburg (35-0), Inverness Citrus (41-0) and Ocala West Port (28-12) – before dropping a first-round playoff game at home against Orlando Bishop Moore in a thrilling 21-20 game. With an outstanding spring, this team hits the summer with several returning players, plenty of size up front and a belief that great things will be happening in 2022.
