New Coach, Same Objective At Madison County

<strong>MADISON COUNTY FOOTBALL</strong><strong> 2022. </strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Price Harris <strong>2021 Record: </strong>11-3 (1A state champions) <strong>THE COWBOYS</strong> For much of the past decade, when playoff time rolled around, this is a school that was very much in the mix for a state title. While the torch has been passed on by head coach<strong> Mike Coe</strong>, who went to Georgia, the objective is the same – and yes – the Cowboys are stacked once again as highly successful Price Harris moves in to take over and finds that the cupboard is far from bare for the defending state champions. Even though they lost three times last year – they were all early and against bigger and powerful programs such as Valdosta, Georgia, Tallahassee Chiles and Dunnellon. Winning the final nine games – including the thrilling 13-12 state title game against Hawthorne, the Cowboys showed how impressive they can be. Along the way, wins came against schools such as Jacksonville University (28-14), Live Oak Suwannee (27-0), Tallahassee Florida High (21-13), Lake City Columbia (28-16), Starke Bradford County (32-21), Tallahassee Rickards (13-12) and Wewahitchka (35-0) in the regular season, and Port St. Joe (45-6), Blountstown (35-0) and Chiefland (37-0) in the state playoffs.
