The recruiting action has been fast and furious in recent weeks and looks like it will continue to be so for the next few weeks as more and more prospects announce their college commitments.
HILLSBORO LINEBACKER GETS BIG 12 OFFER
Hillsboro linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="103445" first="Austin" last="Romaine"] picked up a big offer this week from Kansas State, which could lead to several more offers before long.
Romaine has been one of our favorite prospects we've seen this offseason because he backs up his impressive film and production over the past few years with legitimate size and good testing numbers. He's gone to many camps and combines this offseason and impressed at every opportunity.
A 6-foot-2, 232-pounder, Romaine racked up 85 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one interception as a junior and also rushed for 1,047 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 172 yards and three more scores. He's in line for a monster senior season after getting better this offseason.
Romaine received his first Division I offer from Southeast Missouri State a year ago and has since added offers from Lindenwood, Air Force, Northern Iowa, Samford, Tulane, Columbia, Penn, Murray State, Rice, New Mexico State, Brown, Southern Illinois, Harvard, Ohio, South Dakota and Yale along with a preferred walk-on offer from Arkansas.
