Lake Weir Ready For Change

<strong>LAKE WEIR FOOTBALL</strong><strong> 2022. </strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Jason Roberts <strong>2021 Record:</strong> 1-8 <strong>THE HURRICANES</strong> When <strong>Jason Roberts</strong> took over the program back in February, he knew that his work was certainly cut out for him. With stops at Clermont East Ridge, Tavares, Umatilla and Kissimmee Poinciana, this Orlando native realized that turning this program around would need a total commitment from everyone involved. Mostly everything that he learned along the way came from Coach Scott Frost and his staff at UCF, where he went to school. Remember, after winning the opener against Brooksville Central, the Hurricanes went on to lose eight straight, giving up 50 or more points five times and were shut out the final 24 quarters of the season. His building process began this spring and continues this summer, using a number of underclassmen who have started to buy into what the future holds.
