Here are the latest prospects in Georgia who have made their college commitments…
An impressive 2023 wideout from Gwinnett County, the Norcross Blue Devil playmaker decided recently that he will stay in the peach state and play football at Georgia Tech. Taylor had some respectable offers from Georgia State, UCONN, and East Carolina, but after taking an official visit to Georgia Tech the first weekend in June, the former Parkview standout decided to end his recruitment and commit to the Yellow Jackets. Taylor had an impressive junior season last fall where he caught 48 passes for 700 yards and 7 touchdowns as a junior. He’s a jump-ball weapon who can really high-point the ball and come down with it among defenders. He has plenty of size at 6-foot-1 185-pounds and he was a reliable, big-play option for Parkview all season. He’s quick and elusive with the ball, and the Yellow Jackets are desperate to have someone with Taylor’s skillset in the receiver room. He runs well, knows how to make defenders miss down the field, and has reliable hands, giving him a chance to play early on in Atlanta.

Shatavious Hogan – Baldwin
One of the more underrated receivers in the 2023 class, Hogan showed big-time athleticism and a nose for the endzone last season for Baldwin, and it led to an offer and recent commitment to Central Michigan. They’re getting an absolute steal in the Milledgeville native who is a natural runner with great hands. He’s tough to stop with the ball in his hands and has the ability to pick up lots of yards after the catch. He’s quick off the line, gets open consistently, and knows how to make a tough reception. Hogan has D1 size at 6-foot-3 205-pounds, and he appears to be a very fluid and natural runner for his size. As a junior last fall, Hogan caught 47 passes for 674 yards and five touchdowns. He was one of the most productive receivers in Middle Georgia last year, and a lot of programs are going to miss out on him. Central Michigan saw his skillset and made sure to land his commitment earlier this month.

Caleb LaVallee Caleb LaVallee 6'0" | 190 lbs | LB Whitfield Academy | 2023 State GA – Whitefield Academy
One of the fastest linebackers in the Atlanta area, LaVallee is quick, instinctive, and knows how to chase down the ball carrier. At 6-foot-1 220-pounds, LaVallee moves really well for his size and knows how to wrap up and tackle as well as anyone in the area. His recruitment took off this spring, and after taking an official visit to North Carolina the weekend of June 3rd, LaVallee decided to make his commitment to North Carolina over offers from Ole Miss, Duke, Kansas State, among others.. He’s a smart player and that’s what the Tar Heel staff is looking for in their linebackers. He’s tough, explosive, and can disrupt a play at any particular moment. He’s an excellent downhill linebacker who can shoot the gaps and stop a play before it starts. He’s also reliable when blitzing and can get after the quarterback. There’s a lot to like about his game, and he’s going to make North Carolina’s defense better the second he gets on campus. Last fall, LaVallee made 118 tackles, 16 TFLs, six sacks, one INT and one fumble recovery.

Quentin Thomas Quentin Thomas 6'0" | 200 lbs | WR Eagle's Landing | 2023 State GA – Eagles Landing
Another do-it-all receiver from the Atlanta area, Thomas was extremely productive as a junior and was one of the top receivers in all of 5A. Now, he’s committed to Liberty. This is an excellent pickup for the Flames as he’s a quick, shifty pass catcher who can also be a physical run blocker on the outside. He’s great in jump-ball situations and shows good body control when he’s in the air and attacking the football. He can pick up big yards after the catch and get behind defenses if they get caught looking into the backfield. Last fall, Thomas caught 46 passes for just under 900 yards and three touchdowns.

Kaleb Cost Kaleb Cost 5'8" | 159 lbs | DB Sandy Creek | 2023 State GA – Sandy Creek
The 6-foot-0 180-pounder from Tyrone has some of the best ball skills you’ll find from any defensive back in the region and was one of the top 2023 defenders across the metro-Atlanta area last season. Now, Cost is committed to play for North Carolina after choosing the Tar Heels over schools like Boston College, East Carolina, among others. He’s long, athletic, and knows how to make a play on the football. Cost can also line up in the middle of the field at safety and has no problem laying out a big hit on a receiver trying to come across the middle. Cost is also one of the top overall athletes in the region and can. line up at receiver when needed. Cost shows great burst with the ball in his hands and was consistently one of the biggest playmakers on the field last season.
