John Purdy, 5’11, 195 pounds, 2023, Castle

John Purdy has the ability to play both middle and outside linebacker. Purdy is a disciplined linebacker who does a good job of keeping his shoulders square to the line-of-scrimmage. Purdy reads plays well and changes direction quickly. Purdy also adds a special teams presence by covering kickoffs. Last season, Purdy recorded 116 tackles for Castle. He also chipped in one interception, one fumble recovery and two forced fumbles in his junior season.
Ayden Wells, 5’10, 195 pounds, 2024, Evansville Reitz

Ayden Wells is a game-wrecker in the middle of Evansville Reitz’s defense. Wells combines great speed and tireless pursuit. He has the quickness to run the play down from behind, and he chases well to the outside- frequently making the play when he gets there. Wells engages blockers and fights off blocks consistently. He also brings contributions on special teams. Last year, he totaled 106 tackles. Wells added four tackles-for-loss and a pair of sacks.
Luke Robards, 5’8, 2023, Evansville Central

Luke Robards turned in a productive junior year. Now, he is primed for a solid ending to his high school career. In 2021, Robards posted 38 solo tackles. In total, he managed to rack up an impressive 81 tackles. Robards came up with two tackles-for-loss to go along with one sack and one forced fumble. Robards continues the trend of prospects that can be special teams contributors. Last season he blocked a punt. The ceiling is high for Luke Robards.
Carac Johnson, 6’0, 200 pounds, 2023, Evansville Memorial

Carac Johnson’s 2021 season was limited to only four appearances. But in that quartet of contests, Johnson showed a lot of promise, giving fans plenty of reason to believe that an explosive senior season could be on the horizon. Last campaign, Johnson recorded 46 solo tackles and 79 stops in total. Johnson tacked on two tackles-for-loss, one interception and one forced fumble to his resume. Johnson also found a way to make his mark on special teams with a blocked punt.
Mitch Adler, 5’9, 2023, Evansville Mater Dei
Mitch Adler holds down the fort for the Evansville Mater Dei defense. As a junior, Adler registered 36 tackles. In total, Adler chipped in 76 tackles in his impressive 2021 season. Adler displayed the ability to get penetration by recording seven tackles-for-loss and one sack. Adler added one fumble recovery. Mitch Adler is a prospect to keep an eye out for next year.
