Class of 2023 Under the Radar: Offense

With 148 players in the Prep Redzone rankings, it is easy to see that there is a great amount of talent in the class of 2023. Here are five offensive players that are currently under the radar who are looking to have a great season this fall. OL, [player_tooltip player_id="34502" first="Elijah" last="Garnes"], 6’2, 270, Taft [player_tooltip player_id="34502" first="Elijah" last="Garnes"] is the 16th ranked OL and the 89th ranked player in the class of 2023 overall. In 2021, he helped the Taft Senators to a 10 win season, average 21.3 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He plays as a RG and at both Tackle positions. On running plays, he shows very good quickness to get to the 2nd level, plays with good leverage while displaying excellent, hand use, play strength and physical toughness as he pancakes LB to the ground with ease. He shows great ability to generate movement at the point of attack against large interior DL creating a lane for the RB. WR, [player_tooltip player_id="288074" first="Isaiah" last="Jones"], 6’5, 190, Brookfield Isiah Jones is the 9th ranked WR and the 110th ranked player in the class of 2023 overall. In 2021, he helped the Brookfield Warriors to a 7 win season, average 25.3 points per game and advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. he plays on the outside as an X and Z WR. He shows good play speed to get behind the CB on go routes, tracks the ball well in the air before making the catch over his shoulder. He exhibits good acceleration after the catch is made as he gains significant YAC. He is also a very good run blocker as he uses his good play strength to drive the CB several yards creating a lane for the RB to score a TD. QB, <strong>Ahmad Armstrong</strong>, 6’0, 185, Eastmoor Academy Ahmad Armstrong is currently on the watchlist for the class of 2023. In 2021, he helped lead the Eastmoor Academy Warriors to a 7 win season, average 33.5 points per game and advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He does a good job of seeing the entire field as he makes his reads. He delivers the ball with great accuracy and touch on short, intermediate and deep passes as he places the ball on the correct shoulder maximizing yards after the catch. When running the ball, he shows elite elusiveness as he evades all defenders while using his good play speed to score on a long TD run. RB, [player_tooltip player_id="274837" first="Mason" last="Oliver"], 5’11, 190, Elmwood [player_tooltip player_id="274837" first="Mason" last="Oliver"] is the 14th ranked RB and is currently on the watchlist for the class of 2023. In 2021, he heled the Elmwood Royals to a 10 win season, average an impressive 43.6 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He shows very good vision as he quickly finds the open hole. He exhibits great burst as he gets through the hole quickly and shows very good acceleration as he reaches top speed quickly once he is in the secondary. He shows very good power and contact balance as he breaks tackles from LB and DB with ease. A reliable receiver coming out of the backfield as he gets behind the DB and adjusts his body to the ball to make the catch. RB, [player_tooltip player_id="274838" first="Edward" last="Robinson"], 6’0, 190, Maple Heights [player_tooltip player_id="274838" first="Edward" last="Robinson"] is the 15th ranked RB and is currently on the watchlist for the class of 2023. In 2021, his awesome play was a bright spot in the 5-5 season of the Maple Heights Mustangs where they averaged 30.9 points per game. He gets through the hole quickly and uses his excellent acceleration and play speed to outrun all defenders for a long touchdown run. In the passing game, he runs swing routes and possesses good hands as he can make the catch with his hands away from his body. He does a good job of picking up significant YAC due to his very good athletic ability. &nbsp;
