The Santa Fe Demons are coming off their first winning season in more than two decades but lose several key players off last season’s team, including RB/DB Martell Mora (signed with Eastern New Mexico) and QB Luc Jaramillo. Head coach Andrew Martinez looks to a new crop of young players.
Capitol begins its first season in Class 6A, moving from 5A due to the population boom in south Santa Fe. The Jaguars were extremely young in 2021 and they hope the experience those young players gained last season pays dividends this fall.
St. Michael’s is the most successful program in the city and reached the Class 3A state championship game last November, stunning No. 1 seed Raton in the semifinals. The headlining story for the Horsemen is the looming quarterback battle.
