Some of the best talent and top programs in Georgia are located in Cobb County, and there are plenty of top prospects on offense who have the potential to win Player of the Year honors.
Here are a few offensive players in Cobb County who are bound for All-American seasons…
Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA – QB – North Cobb
One of the top 2023 QBs across Georgia, Singleton has one goal in mind as a senior, and that’s winning a state championship. The dual-threat quarterback and current Arkansas commit dominated as a junior last year, running through defenses on a weekly basis. He’s still developing more and more as a passer, and even though the Warriors have one of the best rushing attacks in the state, Singleton has the arm talent to win a lot of games with his arm in 2022. He was safe with the football all season in 2021 and did a great job of completing passes, ending his junior season last fall with a .731 completion %. He got the ball out quickly, but knew how to push the ball downfield as well. Singleton was 152/208 on the year for 2,168 yards and 21 touchdown tosses. He also rushed for 872 yards and 22 TDs. As a veteran QB on a championship-caliber team, it’s easy to see why Singleton has All-American potential in 2022.
Dwight Phillips Jr- Pebblebrook
The Cobb County star is one of the fastest 2024 prospects in the country and has a chance to fly by defenses on a weekly basis as a senior this fall. The track star is the current 7A 100-meter state champion after running a 10.43 in the 100m earlier this spring. His father, Dwight Phillips Sr, was a former four-time world champion in the long-jump, and Phillips Jr. has those speedy, athletic traits as well. He’s not small by any means at 5-foot-11 170-pounds, and he can line up in multiple spots on the field. Whether he’s lined up out wide at receiver, in the backfield, or returning kicks, Phillips Jr is always a threat with the ball in his hands. He’s one of the hottest prospects in the state right now, and he has a chance to light up the stat sheet this fall. He could easily have one of the best seasons of any WR in the state if given enough opportunities as a pass catcher.
Benjamin Hall Benjamin Hall 5'10" | 220 lbs | RB North Cobb | 2023 State GA – North Cobb
If there’s one breakout candidate at running back in Cobb County this year, it’s Hall. Already a D1 prospect and Michigan commitment, Hall has rushed for 543 yards and eight touchdowns last fall but should see a lot more touches coming his way as a senior. He’s built well at 6-foot-0 220-pounds, but he’s also a smooth runner for a bigger back. With QB Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA also a threat to run, Hall should see plenty of open running lanes behind one of the top offensive lines in the area. He has the size, natural running ability, and big play potential that could lead to a monster season as a senior. He’s one of the most talented backs in the state for the 2023 class, and he has a chance to be one of the very best across the state in 7A this year.
Cayden Lee – Kennesaw Mountain
The top-ranked receiver in Cobb County and the No. 2 receiver in the Prep Redzone WR rankings coming into the 2022 season, there won’t be many defensive backs who can stop Lee this upcoming season. An experienced prospect entering his final season this fall, it’s easy to see the overall talent, dedication, and effort that Cayden Lee Cayden Lee 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Hillgrove | 2023 State GA brings to game. At 6-foot-0 180-pounds, Lee is a natural receiver and a silky-smooth route runner. He’s an incredibly twitchy receiver with great feet and the ability to create separation. He has soft hands and can be explosive with the ball in his hands. He’s great after the catch and has a handful of impressive D1 offers including Georgia, Auburn, FSU, Kentucky, among others. The former Westlake star has reliable hands and has the ability to get past defenders with ease. As a junior last fall, Lee caught 54 passes for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs. They don’t much better than Lee in the 2023 class. Look for him to have another big season on the stat sheet this fall.
