The Pre-Season all state team is put together based on how each individual athlete is projected to do this coming fall, along with team success which plays heavily into the selection process. Have a look at the 5A Offense.
QB [player_tooltip player_id="110201" first="Hogan" last="Carmichael"] 23’ Summit- One of the state’s top QBs and a potential D1 kid. Carmichael returns after accounting for 24 TDs (19 passing, 5 rushing) with only 3 INTs. His 10 yards per rush average helps show how athletic he is.
QB [player_tooltip player_id="147249" first="Chase" last="Nelson"] 23’ Central- The 6-4 220 pounder literally put the team on his back at times last year. Nelson has a few talented guys around him (Kohler, Crandall) but he is the glue.
QB [player_tooltip player_id="207259" first="Kyrin" last="Fuimaono"] 24’ McKay- One of the more impressive underclassmen in the state. Kyrin started as a freshman for a McKay program which has struggled. He was outstanding last season, hitting on 65% of his passes while throwing 21 TDs/4 INTs.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="207256" first="Tyler" last="Konold"] 24’ Canby- Konold will be a leading candidate for state POY honors after going off as a Sophomore and averaging 11.4 yards per carry (1,412 yards 123 carries). In space there is no one at the 5A level like him.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="110182" first="Chip" last="Allers"] 23’ Summit- Let Allers carry the ball 20 times a game and he will average a minimum of 200 yards and 3 TDs per contest. He might project at LB but his 4.5 laser speed will be almost impossible to contain at 6-3 215.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="205814" first="Jackson" last="Pfeifer"] 23’ Silverton- One of the fastest rising athletes in the state. Pfeifer can run with the best of them. Expect the reigning state champs to give him the ball often after accounting for 826 total yards and 14 TDs as a Junior.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="206867" first="Connor" last="Dye"] 24’ Springfield- Not a lot of people know about him but Dye started and earned all-conference honors as a freshman. He would be a 1st team all SWC guy at the 6A level.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="206770" first="Payton" last="Lambert"] 23’ Pendleton- Another kid who is an outstanding overall athlete (baseball). He earned 1st team all-league honors for the Buckaroos, but most aren’t aware playing out in Eastern Oregon.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="271347" first="Cooper" last="Hiday"] 23’ Wilsonville- Hiday was one of Oregon’s top big play guys as a junior, averaging 26.3 yards per catch (31 rec, 814 yards with 9 TDs). He will be the dude for the Cats.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="147268" first="Ben" last="Yundt"] 23’ Mt View- Maybe Oregon’s 5A breakout player of the year. Depending on how head coach Brian Crum wants to use him, he could very well be a state leader statistically especially given their tendency to run.
ATH [player_tooltip player_id="206874" first="Justice" last="Anthony"] 24’ Mckay- Anthony played varsity ball as a freshman and is equally dangerous on both sides of the football. Heading into his junior year he projects as a 1st team all-conference & all state athlete.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="110176" first="Demarcus" last="Houston"] 23’ West Albany- Look for Houston to add a handful of additional D1 offers. He is currently ranked the #2 player in the state for his class regardless of classification.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="205826" first="Blake" last="Groshong"] 23’ Bend- Groshong is a talented basketball kid who could do well if he pursued football. The 6-4 WR is a playmaker and could be the X factor if the Lava Bears can get him the ball.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="152353" first="Caden" last="Negra"] 24’ Ashland- One of the top juniors in Oregon. Negra started as a freshman and comes from a talented family. As stated numerous times if the Grizzlies can give sophomore standout QB [player_tooltip player_id="285886" first="JoJo" last="Harrower"] some time they will have a field day.
WR [player_tooltip player_id="270089" first="Jeremiah" last="Schwartz"] 23’ Ridgeview-Schwartz had a big junior year, earning 1st team all-conference honors for a Ridgeview program with a lot of potential. He’s had an impressive off season thus far.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="278368" first="Charlie" last="Crowell"] 24’ Summit- Expect Crowell to blow up in the coming months. The 6-6 underclassmen has looked outstanding on the camp circuit and has put in the necessary work over the off season
TE [player_tooltip player_id="278367" first="Brysen" last="Kachel"] 24’ West Albany- Kachel was the only sophomore in Oregon to earn all-state honors on both sides of the football. He will project on D but should very difficult to stop on O.
TE [player_tooltip player_id="270069" first="Pete" last="Pennington"] 23’ Churchill- Not a lot of people know about Pennington yet but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him end up one of the top 5A recruits in the state.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="271376" first="Spencer" last="Elliott"] 23’ Summit- Elliott is undersized for an O lineman but super talented. He earned 1st team all MVC honors on offense as a Junior at the 6A level and will lead the projected #1 5A team in the state up front.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="278375" first="Malcolm" last="I’aulualo"] 24’ Hood River- It was only a few short years ago that Henry Buckles broke out and ended up committing to Oregon St. I’aulualo earned 1st team honors as a sophomore and is looking to follow in Buckles footsteps.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="206868" first="Nate" last="Williams"] 24’ Springfield- Another kid with size who earned all-conference accolades as a sophomore, for a below average Millers team. Not sure if they will compete but they should be improved.
OL Hank Brundage 23’ - The 6-3 225 pounder is a talented overall athlete (baseball). Both Brundage and Elliott provide the Storm with maybe the most athletic 5A O line combo in the state.
OL [player_tooltip player_id="285851" first="Jace" last="Eveland"] 25’ Putnam- Eveland broke out this past season earning 1st team all NWOC accolades as a freshman. An incredibly unique accomplishment at such a young age. Look for the Kingsmen to rely heavily on his presence.
