I am doing a review on four defensive players who are worthy of watching when the high school season starts in the Fall.
Hector Bautista Hector Bautista 5'9" | 210 lbs | DL Seventy-First | 2025 State NC , 5’9″ 210, (Watchlist/No. 1 DL), Seventy-First HS. Hector is quick out of his stance to make contact with blockers to control them. He uses a quick first step to move past blockers, often unblocked to make stops in the backfield. Hector displayed good technique on tackles made in the open field. He finished the season with 109 total tackles, 10 were solo tackles, and 10.5 sacks. Hector will continue to improve his skillset during off-season training. Hector’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for him.
Jonathan Hinnant, 6’3″ 200, (Watchlist/No. 2 DL), Hunt HS. Jonathan is quick out of his stance to make contact with blockers to control them. He uses his quickness to move past blockers, often unblocked to make stops in the backfield. Jonathan displayed good use of height and long arms to deflect pass attempts. He displayed good technique on tackles made in the open field. Jonathan finished the season with 132 total tackles, 85 were solo tackles, and 12 sacks. He will continue to improve his skillset during off-season training. Jonathan’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for him.
KJ Liles KJ Liles 6'4" | 290 lbs | DL Southern Durham | 2025 State NC , 6’4″ 260, (Watchlist/No. 4 DL), Hillside HS. KJ displayed good technique and quickness to control blockers. He used his height as leverage along with upper body strength to stall blockers, moving past them for stops. KJ displayed good use of hands and long arms to deflect pass attempts. He will continue to improve his skillset during off-season training. KJ’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for him.
Xavier Lewis Xavier Lewis 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Leesville Road | 2025 State NC , 6’1″ 230, (Watchlist/No. 5 DL), Leesville Road HS. Xavier displayed good technique and upper body strength to stand up blockers. He displayed good use of hands to control blockers and make the stop. Xavier displayed good technique on tackles made in the open field. He finished the season with 21 total tackles, 9 were solo tackles. Xavier moves well in tight spaces to make stops. He will continue to improve his skillset during off-season training. Xavier’s participation in Summer Prospect Camps will generate recruiting interest for him.
