2022 Program Preview: San Marin High School

<em><strong>Coming off a impressive state championship winning season, the San Marin program is in good hands and will look to reload in 2022. With plenty of young stars returning and some who will begin to make a name for themselves, below we will highlight some of those players and dive into some impact players for the 2022 season. </strong></em> <hr /> &nbsp; <strong>QB Jimmy Hughes, 2024 </strong> Hughes will be in the running for the quarterback spot in 2022 and could also make a big impact at linebacker as he has the frame, athleticism and physicality to make a big impact at the second level. Having a strong frame and lower body, he is an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands and brings a nice thump upon contact in the box while showing some cover abilities and ball skills in space. Hughes should have a breakout season in 2022. &nbsp; <strong>QB Michael Ingrassia, 2024 </strong> Ingrassia is one of the top 2024 quarterbacks Northern California has, and could burst onto the scene in 2022. He is a good sized kid, very technically sound and can push the ball downfield with a quick release and good ball placement in tight windows. Displaying a very strong arm especially for his age, he puts nice touch under it over the top and can throw on the run and across his body outside the hash if needed. &nbsp; <strong>WR/DB Benjamin Langford, 2023 </strong> Langford is a physical and downhill utility player that can line up in multiple spots and be very effective as an offensive weapon. Out of the backfield, he can catch the ball in traffic from various body angles and gets vertical in a hurry while running through contact and flashing a nice initial burst after the catch. &nbsp; <strong>LB [player_tooltip player_id="252995" first="Wyatt" last="Drenner"], 2023</strong> Drenner is a very tough and physical edge player that is explosive and violent against the run while able to get off blocks quickly and plays with leverage and strong hands at the POA. Coming off a solid Junior campaign, he will be one of the top defenders across the MCAL and should be an All-League selection. <strong>OL Frankie Petuya, 2023 </strong> Petuya is a top offensive lineman across the MCAL and should find his home inside at the next level due to his natural size, movement ability and short area blocking abilities.
