RB Darius Morant St Anthony’s 2023
Darius is expected to be one of the best backs in the state this fall 2022 as he enters his senior season not only moving up on the depth chart with senior backs graduating but adding to his toolbox of skills as a versatile back. He totaled 273 yards rushing on 31 carries in 2021 season and adding 4 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving score. I got to see him early this summer at the Elite V showcase and he is well built with a 6ft, 200 pound frame. The CHSAA track champion has great acceleration and vision as a runner. Darius reached out to me shortly after the camp to ask what he should work on and the advice I give most New York athletes is mobility. Darius has great straight line speed. Once he is confident enough to use it to the best of his ability. Aside from that, adding more mobility in his hips to give way for a more lateral ability in his run game will make him the most complete back and any D1 coaches dream with his already pro build and coachable attitude.
WR Jackson Green Jackson Green 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Pittsford | 2023 State NY , Pittsford Mendon HS 2023
Jackson is a dependable target at the wide receiver position. He is 6’3 185 with the frame to add even more size and strength. He is a strong and physical receiver who is very hard to bring down. The dual sport athlete who plays shooting guard for Pittsford has gained notice from schools such as Princeton, Fordham, and Army. This list is sure to grow this fall as he will be the main target this 2022 season as senior receivers depart.
Jahi Gary Jahi Gary 6'5" | 200 lbs | WR Archbishop Stepniac | 2024 State NY Archbishop Stepinac HS 2024
At 6’5 and 195 pounds Jahi is a matchup problem for any defender and creates a big catch radius. He has good ball skills and body control to make any catch contested or not. He does well to use his physicality to create separation on his routes as well as shielding defenders away from making a play on the ball, he can high point it, and can get his feet down tight to the sideline or pile line making him a very reliable target. He has above average acceleration using his stride and length to reach the end zone. Jahi has shown flashes of being the complete receiver with playmaking ability giving effort as a consistent blocker also. He is a top talent already and as he reps more routes in the route tree this summer, Jahi may very well be a top receiver prospect for colleges this fall. An exciting player to watch for a breakout season.
WR/CB Matthias Lighten Matthias Lighten 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Moore Catholic | 2024 State NY , Moore Catholic HS 2024
Matthias is a strong and explosive athlete before and after he has made the catch. In his sophomore season he has 655 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns on 37 receptions. He also had 3 touchdowns in 4 games played his freshman season. Matthias is 6’1, 175 pounds with multiple tools in his toolbar already. He can play outside the numbers, he can play the slot, and can run any route on the route tree with decent efficiency. He has very reliable hands for even the worst of throws, and has excellent body control and balance to stay on his feet and turn and use his burst of speed towards the end zone. He has a very big upside to his playmaking ability as a pass catcher and a reliable blocker. You want him on the field for your offense to have a chance. If he continues to develop his skillset he will catch the eyes of multiple D1 programs across the country this Fall 2022 season.
WR Marek Arbogast O’Neil HS 2024
Marek racked up 892 yards in only 48 receptions in just his sophomore year. He has very reliable hands and found the end zone 10 times for scores. His production lands him as a top 10 receiver in the state. Marek is a speedster anywhere on the field and has elite route running ability. He seems to have a deep tool bag of releases off the line and has next level vision and ability to get behind the defense. He has great agility in his routes and as a ball carrier consistently making defenders miss and gaining significant yards after catch. Despite his size at 5’10 and nearly 160 pounds, he has great strength to break through arm tackles. Marek is already dominant at this level and with even more speed and size to his game he will gain a lot of attention this fall.
